Id have to think about it. But I really enjoy Lisa’s first words, the PTA disbands, and Homer at the Bat
A) love the you got the dud - "stand up for yourself poindexter" is one of my go to lines... B) Most upvoted post in that Reddit thread is 10 minutes worth of YouTube videos of Homer doing the Sugar Sugar dance in various scenes throughout the shows history.
hot take. Homer at the bat doesn't hold up the way other episodes have as far as timeless rewatches. It broke ground and is still good but I don't go out of my way to rewatch it on Disney+
I’ve come to the conclusion that Strawberry and Burns’s interactions throughout the episode are my favorite part. “No hustle either, skip!” “That’s right, Darryl.”
Last Exit to Springfield PTA Disbands You Only Move Twice Homer the Heretic Homer Badman those are the ones that immediately come to mind for me
the entire series or will you cherry pick episodes? if you rewatch the entire series I think might warrant its own thread or just takeover this one with a running diary. that’s a serious commitment.
Are you doing every season? I don't think I've seen any past season 9. I'm currently watching Brooklyn 99 now for this first time and I really enjoy it.
I rewatch seasons 1-11, 12, or 13 (And then a few random later eps) going to sleep. It’s part of a rotation of shows (this, parks, 30 rock, scrubs, b99, happy endings, Seinfeld, cheers and maybe a few others that I’m forgetting). You’ll see my posting in this thread pick up a lot when in going through a rewatch
There was a podcast like 4 or 5 years ago that tried to do a rewatch of every episode in order, and then each host would rank the most recent episode against all previously watch episodes (i.e. if you just watched episode 10, you'd rank that compared to episodes 1-9). Unsure how far they got because the hosts were really annoying and the show structure was pretty tedious, so I stopped listening after like 5 episodes.
The City of New York vs Homer Simpson The Cartridge Family Das Bus Itchy and Scratchy Land Bart vs Australia I think that's my top five but it would probably change upon another run through of seasons 1-10 gosh season 9 is so epic
Thanks thread. Just got my buddy a wedding present (supposed to be this weekend) that he will love. He can put it in his office. But one of both our favorite quotes is in the frame and it’s signed. I might get one for my office...my wife is done with memorabilia after LSU and the Nats this past year.
Well shit I got jealous and now an hour later, I’ve got Steve sax, wade boggs and Jose canseco signed Homer at the Bat 8x10s heading my way. Live footage of me on eBay:
Is there a reason fxx seems to cut little snippets out of these episodes? I've noticed a handful of quality jokes being missed the last few days because of like 5 seconds of a scene missing.
I’ve noticed that too. Doesn’t make sense, it’s not like it’s a movie edited for tv. Disney+ is the way to go. Every episode ever and unedited as far as I can tell.
Would imagine it’s bc they need to cut to fit in the 30 minute window with an additional minute or so of commercials. Episodes used to run 23 minutes and change and now they have to cut it down to 22 minutes
“Purple monkey dishwasher” still kills me every time. If you don’t think that’s funny, you best believe that’s a paddlin.
nah I think it’s Last Exit to Springfield that, what you mentioned, PTA Disbands, 22 short films about Springfield are in my top 10
every single time i work my way through season 4, i'm amazed. murderers row of episodes kamp krusty homer the heretic mr. plow marge vs. the monorail last exit to springfield whacking day krusty gets kancelled
what's a battle? did that kid say what's a battle? no. he said, whats that rattle. about the heating duct. sounded like he said battle. well, i've had a cold, so... oh, so you'd hear r's as b's?
