He deferred it to avoid UK taxes. I think you have to be working out of country for a set time before you don't pay taxes.
When he first started playing last year he looked pretty dangerous. Since his injury, not so much. Lucky to get 25M.
Apparently Trippier to Bayern might actually happen. Allegedly the clubs are negotiating today It makes no sense at all from the Newcastle side, and I genuinely do not understand
Fab via Pletti is claiming it'd be a permanent move, not a loan. If that's the case, and the FFP restrictions are real, then I get it as it would give the club the ability to sign a midfielder. If it's a loan it makes zero sense as I don't suspect any loan fee would be of substance on the revenue side. And they have Livramento there already.
Up until the last month/month and a half yes. The narrative coming out this past week has been that Newcastle is going to have to sell players in order to buy more. Appears Trippier could be the first one if that's believed. And I think part of the reason is because they feel Livramento is ready to take over at RB
Seems like Newcastle isn’t going to make champions league so minus well see if livramento is ready over second half of the season and if not they can sign someone over the summer guessing trippier is one of, if not the, top earner and he’s old as f. Going to a retirement league is prob a good move
They are kinda in no mans land... unlikely to get CL & no danger of relegation. Great window to throw new blood to the fire
Off top of my head, over the last 5 years, the only sales of 10+ mil have been Saint Maximin and Chris Wood. And I think those two brought in a total of maybe 30mil. Add in Mike Ashley giving zero fucks about generating revenue for over a decade, the FFP issues make sense considering there was very minimal revenues coming in. New FFP seems to have teeth, and in order for Newcastle to add to the squad, more sales have to happen to comply.
Thank you Mike Ashley! To be honest though, them having 2 academy products playing in the CL was a fucking miracle all things considered
Do not look at the very top or bottom of the table, whatever you do. https://www.premierleague.com/tables?team=U21
Because if it was coordinated like you insinuate, why would they wait until the last week to sell and buy players?
Probably because almiron doesn’t want to go suck around in saudi? Also, you don’t have to sell before you buy it just matters what the accounts say at the end of the year
