Has this been discussed? But the most telling clue (and certainly the most unfortunate one) came during end credits for the episode. As at least one perceptive fan on Twitter discovered, a foreign market version of the credits accidentally listed Sophia Di Martino’s character not as “The Variant,” as all other languages had, but rather as “Sylvie.”
Can we get a less blurry Peggy pic? Not doubting thats who it is but the screenshot itt is Sasquatch quality and honestly wouldn’t know who it was unless everyone else here was convinced it was her…
I think it’s way too early to introduce her as the variant in Episode 2. We aren’t going to find out what’s really going on until later.
I think it might be. I mentioned this a few pages back, but in the cartoon series Avengers Assemble, there is a storyline involving Kang and Ravonna. Ravonna is in a coma and dying, and Kang traces the onset to Captain America’s presence in the 21st century, instead of dying in WWII. Kang goes back in time and tries to kill him, and the council of Kangs who manage other timelines has to intervene from the timelines they manage to restore order to that one. I think this is setting up for Loki to cut a deal with Kang so Loki can avoid his own death that he saw in EP1. Kang works with Loki because Kang is trying to save Ravonna. This sets the multiverse in motion for the next film, after Kang goes rogue from the TVA/Council of Kangs.
This show rocks. That's all I've got, it truly feels different like the first half of WandaVision and I appreciate that.
I could be misremembering but wasn’t it a Skrull disguised as Captain America that started the chain of events?
Watching the first episode again and Hiddleston is amazing, from the comedy of Loki going through the process early in the episode to the him watching his life play out and how affected he is by the consequences of his desires and decisions. I might be the biggest stan for Thor 1 on here, but watching how he's played the character since that movie it feels like a pretty big missed opportunity that they made that character so serious in that first one. Especially considering the chemistry he and Hemsworth showed later with that stuff.
Sure. Just like it wouldn't be gay to give a past/future/alternate timeline same sex version of yourself a handy.
Enjoyed this episode. Felt like a Mandalorian episode or something. Tracking shot was decent at the end. And they're not leaving the mysteries go on forever, the second I saw they started the show with "Something in the water" and it's Sasha Lane and Sylvie having drinks it told the truth that they're not made in the TVA and then she tells Loki that. This opens up the 4th and 5th episodes being huge. I now hope the season ends with Owen Wilson on a Jet Ski back to his normal self.
All the TVA being variants is going to be big. Also did he say Loki was bi? Between the race commentary in FWS, the climate drops in ep 2 and now this Marvel just not giving a fuck and it’s awesome.
Pretty much. They both also tried to 1 up each other on who's more hedonistic. I think they should expand upon that imo.
I ship Loki and the Enchantress you could cut the sexual tension with a knife its like a combo of Wanda and Vision and Sam and Bucky
Definitely got that Mandolorian space western vibe walking into the abandoned town. And I bet Owen Wilson is in to jet skis because he was a variant from the early 90s. Basing this on his explanation on when form and function were perfected (I forget how he said it specifically).
Yep, first bi-sexual MCU character. Tessa Thompson was implied, but this was just confirmed. Loki's profile in the beginning of the season at the TVA said his Gender was 'Fluid' It's great they did that, and it's still Pride month
Has to be real. Owen Wilson to the rescue and helps them take down the TVA when she shows him his life before.
Yeah, it’s a nice gesture but it feels like making Loki bisexual isn’t exactly a risk. He’s a hedonistic god…they fucked everything.
I think it’s Mobius just going to every single extinction level event the TVA can get their hands on.
I loved the first two episodes and wanted to watch them again pretty much as soon as I saw them. I did not think this episode was good and probably won't watch it again unless there's a big twist here that makes me revisit it. The whole thing just seemed kind of weird and forced.
Definitely my least favorite episode so far. Probably just setting up the rest of the series, which I’m cool with.
