In the middle is the gentlemen bastard series. Just read the first 2 stormlight archive books. I need a couple 3-400 page books that I can read in a couple days.

Just finished the city of Thieves (LKRFN88jp) and that was great. Looking for something like that. Or the Martian (that's just a book I read in a day. Don't necessarily need a book about an astronaut stranded on Mars).

    Thanks and #god #bless

Any of the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child are quick page turners.
61 Hours, Worth Dying For, One Shot, The Affair are some of my favorites.

Nelson DeMille is also fantastic, any of the John Corey series are awesome. The Lion's Game, The Lion (in that order, The Lion is the sequel), Night Fall, and the Panther are all excellent.

"The Postman Always Rings Twice" by James Cain. Crime noir thriller from the 1930s and one of the quickest page turners I've ever read. "Double Indemnity" by the same author is the same way

    You're welcome.

The best way I can think to describe it is if H.P. Lovecraft and Rob Zombie had a child and that child took drugs and wrote a book.

Read it in about 4 days over the last week, too. Reeeeeeally enjoyed it.

lhprop1 if you've got anything else in this vein, I'd love the recommendation

The only one I can think of at the moment is Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. It's similar in that it's a very unique story, but the premise and plot aren't anything like Mt Char.

Started reading on the author of Mt Char last night. How crazy is it that this was his first book. Before that, he'd just written a bunch of computer programming manuals in the early 2000s.

His site says he's working on a new book. Will be watching for its release. Maybe next year?

I know it's mostly a romance but I did enjoy The Time Traveler's wife. Not as much as the 4 I listed above but still good.

If you want an adventure story, read Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage by Alfred Lansing. It's non-fiction, but the story is so incredible that it seems like it has to be fiction. This is easily in my top 5 books of all time.

Great book and an insane story.

IF you liked Dark Matter, you should really read All Our Wrong Todays
