Even in a loss, I generally liked how we looked against their pen. Hopefully Dave manages the lineup better so we don’t end a game with Rios and Barnes batting. beuhler Urias Kershaw Let’s take 2 out of 3
Obviously, when a series is tied, the next game is vital, but game 3 is huge. Morton has been great in the playoffs. I assume the game will be low-scoring so we need Buehler's best. If we win game 3, I feel really good about Urias vs. whoever they throw out there in a game 4. I know game 3 will be a slog, but can't help but get excited about the prospect of a 3-1 lead and kershaw on the mound game 5
Evidently Barnes may catch Buehler tomorrow. Smith will still DH. But interesting since it will take a LH bat out of the lineup.
How I judge whether or not to send a guy... runner getting to third compared to when the outfielder gets to the ball. If the runner is ahead at all, send him.
Called that safety squeeze before he even stepped to the plate. And honestly I think I saw Choi signal for it before they even showed Barnes. They still couldn’t stop it.
Smoltz said it best... the fastball was hopping. So many guys swinging under the pitch, or watching it thinking it was low and it rose to catch the zone. A gem of a performance.
I yelled at him for not leaning back into the pitch behind him. My wife said "He doesn't want to get on that way. He wants a homer." Yeah, I got owned by my wife who started watching baseball 4 years ago.
