Jeff Sullivan @based_ball 49m49 minutes ago over the past month, all without Kershaw, Dodgers are second in baseball in pitching WAR and first in baseball in strikeout rate
The writers are insisting the Dodgers and White Sox aren't discussing a trade involving him even though there has been a lot of smoke. Either way, it definitely doesn't feel like the FO is finished.
I don't think any of the 3 prospects traded away today will end up that big of a loss in the long run, although I wish they would've acquired someone with a bit more certainty in terms of ability to log innings than Rich Hill.
Gotta be something more that hasn't come out. Roberts mentioned his hamstring but if he's hurt send him to the DL. He's an objectively better player than SVS or Toles.
Sure seems like it. Man, the injury issues this year are hard to believe. Pretty clear we're not gonna win a title but if we can manage to make the playoffs again and get some more seasoning for the young guys, I'll look at the year as a positive.
So do y'all expect Grant Dayton (Lefty reliever) to stay with the team the remainder of the year and throughout possible playoffs? His MLB debut and 2nd outing were successful (4 IP, 6 K, 0 runs). He was one of my buddies in college (Auburn) and is a real good guy. Glad to see he's doing well and will be pulling for LA since the Braves suck.
That's about right. Yas takes one hard off the right shoulder. Staying in the game but you know it's going to temper his increasingly warming bat. Just a rough year, injury wise.
Dodgers with the NL leading number of injuries.. and still in a position to possibly lead the division. Overall, their record is only beat by another 4 or 5 teams in the whole league. That's pretty impressive with all things considered.
You just can't try and steal outs with a guy like Kazmir. Once Ruiz singled the hook needed to follow.
He looked sharp excluding the one mistake pitch. Brought in with no outs, runner on 1st and 2nd in a 1-0 game. Struck out the first guy who failed to sacrifice bunt twice. Then against Galvis, he had him out in front on a couple two strike pitches that he just barely managed to foul off. Grant was very close to working out of the jam. He retired the next two batter easily.
Yeah, I haven't seem him pitch since our last year at AU which was 2010. But from what I remember, he had a lot of K's but would also tend to give up a few too many dingers. He doesn't throw real hard and isn't going to blow by hitters. I'm sure he'll learn how to pitch and get ground balls.
I can't believe we traded for a guy who won't play until September at best. So stupid. Especially with his age, we may only utilize him for like 5 starts
Alex Freedman @azfreedman 2h2 hours ago Yasiel Puig just obliterated an opposite field HR to RF. He's got 3 hits tonight and is now 13-for-27 with 3 HR and 11 RBI in 7 gms w/OKC. errors by Reddick certainly aren't getting scrutinized as if Puig was the culprit.
lastly, Zack Greinke made 92 starts with the Dodgers and never allowed 7+ runs. He has made 19 starts with the D-backs and done it three times.
