Apparently Kurtzman isn't involved. Still, rushing a Venom movie that isn't connected to your Spider-Man movie without a director attached. lol, you do you Sony.
three eps in, there is so much potential to Iron Fist. not confident it will reach it, but I'm a sucker for this story.
TV thread is up and running for Iron Fist https://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/marvels-iron-fist-on-netflix.168019/
oh no not a bad review from a guy from Jersey. watching it now, it's entertaining at least up through ep. 5...a few initial storylines could've been sped up though.
Um, remember that they were going to give Aunt May her own movie(or was it a series?). And you have to put the caveat worst *Marvel comic book movie(and ignore Howard The Duck)...because DC has already slated a Black Adam movie, hoping the Rock can carry a villain for a hero that soooooo many average movie-goers are going to know not a fucking thing about. Marvel pulled that off with GoTG and others, but DC hasn't instilled a single bit of confidence that they can turn nothing into something.
really enjoyed Logan. I related to that character way too much. Might be being over 40 or just my general outlook on life, it hit home for me. I have never been really into graphic novels or comics but it had me looking for Old Man Logan today. Found it on Amazon of course and will more than likely buy tomorrow.
I've never been excited about the Iron Fist character at all, so whatever. But to be fair, I was never a fan of Luke Cage, either, until he was deep dicking Krysten Ritter.
He's such a moron in the show. You're in a mental institution and you want to get out ASAP, so you talk openly about a mystical warrior monastery and your spiritual superpowers.
So the dialogue isn't great, but I'm 7 episodes in and actually like it. The hallway/elevator fight was actually pretty solid
Rewatched Dr Strange, such a great movie. May be in my top 5 Marvel movies. Post credits with Strange and Thor is just perfect.
Do you think the mutant suppressant in food and drinks was aiding his diminished healing, or was it just old age?
I watched Doctor Strange on a red-eye flight crossing the Pacific the other day. Not a bad film - it's constructed like every other origin Marvel hero movie where it's a character bio on adrenaline so they can squeeze everything in, in under 140 minutes tops. Benedict Cumberbatch has a great American accent, and I thought he played the character well. Good casting in comparison to the Joaquin Phoenix rumors early on. I wasn't blown away by the movie, and definitely not in my top 5 or top 10, but it was entertaining.
How did you like the underlying theme on time? Did you enjoy the way it turned common marvel endings on their collective heads? Did any of the visuals stick out to you on whatever size screen you had on that flight? I understand the complaints of whitewashing for the character, but I absolutely loved Tilda Swinton as the ancient one, that scene on the balcony was absolutely fantastic to me. Any favorite scenes for you?
geez you guys really took that Sepinwall tweet personally. I only posted it because it's pretty rare to see a critic go that hard at something in a tweet. I didn't even read the review and of course I'm watching the show.
critics are typically horribly people devoid of any real talent and Sepinwall is one of the worst. every day some poor laptop feels the pressure his sausage fingers exert as he brings himself to a panting sweat to tell you how bad the next show you want to watch is to him.
Saw Logan again this weekend. Loved it just as much, and it was definitely a little dusty when X bites it and the ending. Especially after seeing that tweet from the other movie where the Chinese girl tells him "i see you bleeding on your back, holding your heart in your hand". Also loved Dr. Strange. And I really want a watch butler like he has (and the watches to go in it).
All reviews are repetitive - overuse of long words that are unnecessary, taking forever to get to the damn point.
Just saw it last week for the first time and would agree with all of this. The one thing I came away with was how it really needed to be introduced earlier in the MCU so they could flesh everything out more through multiple movies. They jammed 2, maybe 3 movies into 1.
Surprised at the Logan reviews in here. Saw it Saturday and thought it was horribly average. Sure, fight scenes were great but it was poorly edited and way too long. And way too predictable. Thought they'd take it out on a higher note.
I may have agreed with you about the ending if they left with the cross at his grave - but when she turned it to an X I thought that was very fitting and cool.
