It's not exactly the ideal first post I wanted to make about the movie, but since I just saw it today and so many other good scenes or moments have been mentioned, I'll go with one I haven't seen get any attention. Spoiler Drax asking ego about his penis was delightfully awkward Kinda felt like a reference to Brody caring so much about super hero genitalia in Mallrats when he talked to Stan Lee.

My wife and daughter watch that show more than I care to admit, which means I watch it more than I care to admit. It's not terrible at all.
Saw it yesterday, loved it. Agree with much of the spoilered stuff so far. My theater was big and mostly filled. There were times where it was very loud with laughter and clapping. Might be the most I've ever laughed in a theater.
Gonna be that guy and say it. They clearly went over the top with baby groot. Now before you all kill me. I loved every second of it and have no problem with him stealing the movie. They knew they had a winner with groot and shamelessly played it up knowing this was their only opportunity. also. lmao at taserface saying groot was too adorable to kill
It was every 5 minutes. If they hadn't hit it out of the park every single time, it would have ruined the movie. It was a very high risk move, but it paid off
I can see and sort of agree with this. They definitely put a lot of eggs into the baby Groot basket. But like you said, they killed it every time. High risk, high reward move. But damn did it pay off.
Some of the jokes did run a bit too long but I don't mind as Gunn and co. have earned the right to be a bit self indulgent at times.
Are we still putting movie talk in spoilers? Spoiler Drax and Baby Groot were fucking awesome together. Groot constantly trying to attack him like when he landed on the radio and smashed it had me laughing my ass off every time. And after the credits when Kraglin is trying to use the arrow and hits Drax in the chest/neck with it.

At my second viewing a few people had infants. I'm talking like probably less than a year old. Not only are you disturbing the rest of us because your baby is crying all the time. But jesus what is the IMAX sound doing to that poor baby's ears??
Yea I don't care much if you let your kid see mature stuff, god knows me and my best friend exposed his kids to music, movies and video games that were probably too mature for them when they were younger. But your baby is ruining the movie for everyone else and you're probably doing serious damage to their hearing. IMAX is loud as shit, especially a movie like this.
