Exactly, sitting in a theater by myself and going to town on a massive bucket of popcorn is one of my favorite activities, so seeing a shit movie occasionally isn’t a deal breaker.
Good to know there are more of us out there. No one I know in real life wants to do this with me ever. Morbius screening got cancelled on Tuesday when my friends started looking at reviews
I'm still having anxiety attacks in crowded movie theaters after 2.5 years of COVID crowd fear so I've been seeing a lot more movies of questionable quality of late just because I enjoy being in the theater
My contempt - and I haven’t seen it yet - for the movie isn’t that I have a problem watching crap movies. Hell, I’ve seen every entry of the F&F series on opening weekend. My issue is that Sony is ruining properties that I’d like to see put to use in the MCU. That’s my hesitance in paying money to see this particularly shitty movie.
The issue is there are movies that are actually deserving that aren't getting any views. It's getting to where we are only going to get superhero movies in theaters and that sucks. I love the genre but don't want it to be the only genre. Still can't believe this movie made 90 million or whatever it was last week.
Right and it's not just blockbuster action movies, but others that studios won't put rewarded behind because they'd rather play it safe. Then they'll eventually finally make something and pull a "they had no idea it would be that successful" bullshit.
This is incredibly hyperbolic imo. Mindless action movies have always existed. Sure, a couple more of those a year are now superhero-based but the studios making them are just making a few less action movies of other sorts.
Maybe but it's definitely not hyperbolic that anything other than superhero movies are floundering at the box office. My other issue is Sony keeps putting out dogshit but people keep watching it so I guess they'll just keep doing it. I'd rather them give Marvel the rights.
Some Brazilian account leaked Thor popcorn bucket art. I’ll spoiler it but it doesn’t really show anything or is all that interesting. Spoiler
Have to imagine they are just waiting for Dr Strange to drop to show the trailer? Seems weird we haven't seen it yet.
First Thor gets better on rewatches as you get to know the character. Sadly, Thor 2 is one of the worst entries of the MCU…but Ragnarok(Thor3) is easily a top-3 entry so his series is quite the rollercoaster.
probably a bit of a dip in quality (while still entertaining) for the next 2, and then pretty much nothing but greatness after.
I’m so jealous of Andy. He’s got so much good stuff in front of him. I’m gonna get hammered during the Hawks game and then go Ragnarok, IW and then EG. you bros
Gotcha. I watched them all over 2-3 nights and I think doing that helped me enjoy them, but you didn't prove my theory. Glad you are enjoying them - you have some awesome movies coming.
Yeah, because I watched them with my son who was 7 when we started. So we'd watch in 40-60 minute segments before he went to bed. Except for Shang-Chi and No Way Home, which we watched in the theater.
