One of my good friends from residency works at the clinic west of the Twin Cities where a gunman came in and shot a bunch of people and killed a couple of front desk workers. The local police were borderline braggadocious about how "on their radar" the shooter was. Police truly do not do shit for anybody.

Hours before the shooting, Ethan found himself in trouble again at school. This time, a teacher noticed a drawing of a gun with the words, "The thoughts won't stop, help me." His parents were called to the school, and they promised to get him counseling. However, they let him stay at school for the rest of the day, and a few hours later, he pulled out the gun and started shooting.

That does make sense and I agree that they don’t really care about the kids. But making a joke that luckily the surviving kids won’t have to see a drag show is fucked up. There are better ways to make the point edit: for instance saying you are glad the lawmakers are more concerned about drag than guns. But making a joke about the surviving kids is wrong
