I've been looking forward to the finale all week.
Going to watch it live for the 1st time this season. Hopefully they get to say fuck like they do in the Amazon version of this show.
They’ve been doing that for a while now
Yeah, USA hasn’t shied away from the F-bombs and headshots lately.
What a finale. What a show.
Thought it was perfect.
"Come on, this only works if you let go too"
Satisfying ending. Second part was much better than the first. Glad they did not go further down the stupid sci-fi tangent. The show had already cluttered itself with too many storylines.
Well that was pretty dang good
And the score for both episodes was god damn amazing
This might just be my new GOAT
This show was planned out about as perfect as it could be. It never felt like there were any wasted episodes or seasons. Loved it.
Going to spoiler the below for those who haven't seen the finale yet (but they shouldn't be going in this thread if they haven't), but just more proof of how every little detail was planned out from the very beginning
It's early for the IMDB ratings to roll in for the finale, but three of the top seven highest rated episodes on IMDB are from season 4 of Mr. Robot, 4 of the top 23, five of the top 26.
Only four episodes have a rating of 10.0, two are Mr. Robot - the one where it was revealed that Elliot was molested and the second part of the finale.
That was a really great finale to an awesome series. I thought the show could have ended somewhere around episode 8 of this season and was worried the last few episodes would drag it out / take it down a bad path but man I was wrong. The score was absolutely fantastic through the whole series. Will be interesting to see who gets the emmy between Mac Quayle and Reznor (watchmen).
This final season is among the greatest that I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. It’s incredible when something like this moves you so much, simply fantastic.
I watched the first season when it first came out, didn't stick with it and watched the last 3 seasons over the last few weeks.
Ho. ly. Shit.
What an amazing ending to this show. I mean, jesus christ.
any idea what the machine was? Whiterose's plan with it in the Congo?
I just finished season 4 over the last couple weeks and, yeah, that was incredible.
I think Whiterose's machine was basically what most people thought it was. Her attempt to take people into an alternate reality where everything is "right." She wanted it moved to the Congo just for safety purposes because if it didn't work or if something went wrong you get the nuclear meltdown in Washington Township. But ultimately it was just an insane person's pipe dream.
Just realized I completely missed the final season. How was it? Guess this is the perfect time to watch it.
It was excellent.
I thought it was perfect. Hard to wrap something like that up and make everybody happy but I thought it was damn near flawless.
Episode 7 is the #5 all-time highest rated episode on IMDB, #3 for live action, and was being talked about as the greatest episode on TV history after it aired. The last episode is #17, the ninth is #26 and the fifth is #27.
Had recorded the final season and didn’t start it until last night. Just finished now. Shouldn’t have binged so much, but it was soooo fucking good. The scores were fucking incredible all the way through. I would never have watched a show like this if it wasn’t for tMB. Thank you all
Getting to watch that season for the first time, I’m jealous. I’ll shuffle between Mr. Robot and Breaking Bad as my all-time fave
Just started binging this. I'm so confused in season 2
Started this show last week. I’m on S1E7 and loving it so far. Honestly had never even heard of it until last week. Fully on board now.
Season 2 is a bit of a let down, though still pretty solid, but just power through it. Seasons 3 and 4 were appointment television.
Man just binged the whole series over the last three weeks.
blown away. What a show.
What streaming service has it? Been recommending it to some friends/family but not sure where they can watch.
I think amazon has 1-3 for prime. Had to buy the 4th since I don’t have tv to use the USA app
Just finished season two. Really liked it. BD Wong has been great.
Did you catch the post-credits scene? Season 1 had one as well but you're past that now.
Season 1 finale post-credits scene
Season 2 finale post-credits scene
Watching those now it's cool to see the same filming style. Shot following a car, conversation between 2 people. Season 3 has one as well.
The opening of S3E2 — when he first starts at E-Corp and New Sensation is playing — was one of the best scenes of the series so far. Show has a perfect soundtrack and damn good editing.
That scene and S2E2 when they make the E-Corp guy burn the money with Phil Collins playing were perfect.
Just finished season three. Think it was my favorite season so far. Standout episodes were the aforementioned one where he started at E-Corp, Trenton’s little brother following Elliot around, and the finale.
Don’t like how things are trending for my girl Angela. She seems to be losing it. Thought the "I am your father" thing was a little meh. Not sure what the whole purpose of that is or if the dude was even being honest (I assume more will come from that).
Wong continues to steal every scene that he's in. Glad the one toolbag FBI agent/Dark Army mole is dead. Fuck that guy. I'm a big fan of Irving. He kinda reminds me of Lalo from Better Call Saul.
The little brother episode hit me in the feels a few times. “Thank you for saying nice things about my daughter.”
Anddddd that certainly didn’t take long as I sit here five minutes into season four.
The transition from recap to just... oh, we're just off to the races. OK. So good.
Just a couple notes... the final season aired around Christmas and it takes place over the span of like 2 weeks. It's kinda like a huge Die Hard-esque Christmas movie. It's obviously not about Christmas but Christmas is all around.
Just finished S04E05 which is instantly another one of my favorites. Will have to re-watch at some point but I believe there was basically zero dialogue except for the very beginning and very end. The mission impossible type sequence in Virtual Realty and subsequent chase through Central Park was outstanding. And Janice the taxidermist continues to be creepy as fuck.
My lone sorta complaint of the season so far has been how Wellick went out. Just didn’t feel right for him to get taken out by some random Dark Army dude.
Friend of mine said a few of the later season 4 episodes have near perfect IMDB scores. Haven’t really researched since I’m trying to avoid any spoilers, but I’m fast approaching the home stretch.
Oh boy you haven’t even seen the best one yet. Episode 7 is one of the best episodes in TV history.
This show getting zero Emmy nominations for the last season was a travesty.
It’s one of the grossest injustices in all of award history.
It was so well done that I didn't even realize it until rewatching it with a friend. It opens with Elliot getting into Darlene's car and she says, "It's cool, dude. We don't have to talk." Then no dialogue until the very end with Vera telling Krista, "It's time we talked."
On any other show it would've been a horrible gimmick but it worked perfectly on Mr. Robot.
Yeah so Ep7 was awesome and I wasn’t expecting that twist. Also the dude who plays Vera did a hell of a job in that role.
The Irish criminal guy
Two episodes left. Episode 11 was great. Loved the alternate universe type thing at the end. 10 was all about Dom and Darlene heading to their new lives/identities. It was good as well but not a standout by any means. Worth reiterating how great Wong was in this show.
I'm pretty sure they were meant to be watched together. A 2-part series finale. So whenever you do get around to watching try to watch them together if you can.
Final two episodes were excellent. Had a bit of an Inception-style mindfuck to them at times, so I'll probably need to re-watch the end in the coming days. The series as a whole felt like several other things I love all thrown together in a way. American Psycho, Fight Club, Vanilla Sky, Dexter (the early seasons at least), and probably a few others.
Great show. Love it when I find something "new" I can binge in a month.
Might be worth rewatching season 1, episode 4 as well. At least the part where Elliot is having his "hallucinations" (not actually hallucinations we now know) from withdrawal.
That was one of my favorite episodes for so long and the fact that it ended up being so significant to the series just blew me away.
Forgot to mention it, but the opening of the last episode with Mr. Roboto playing was awesome. I'm reading some series reviews right now and it seems that season two was sorta controversial and disliked by some. I don't recall thinking it was bad, but it may have been my least favorite of the four. Probably gonna go back through this thread finally now.
