I think there is pushback against the dogshit tier minimalist style of jerseys like the new Utah ones that is overrating some of those cartoon ones from the 90s.
My holy grail of mid-90s jersey was the German national team(DFB) jerseys with the diamonds, UNC basketball, and Green Pistons jersey.
never really wore jerseys for other teams than my own. i do remember a nick van exel yellow lakers jersey from his rookie year $P1 in addition to starter jackets, a random big clothing item that my friends and i had were the old arizona wildcats basketball shorts with the "CATS" down the leg
not worth the max at his age w the Warriors or any team. Draymond got benched in a finals game and hasn’t shut up all offseason
Draymond is going to be 33 next summer. The idea of anyone giving him close to the max for his years 33-36 seasons is insane. Maybe he gets some nostalgia love from the Warriors, but any other team giving him even $20M a year would regret it the second they signed him.
“Perhaps a bigger concern is how the NBA Finals MVP would feel about Green not getting an extension. Multiple sources said Curry would not be happy if the Warriors lost Green because the team didn’t want to pay him. Curry is under contract for four more years and has a desire for Green and Thompson to be with him for the length of his stay. A three-year extension would align Green’s contract with Curry’s. Curry sees the Big Three as a package deal. While much of the talk of the season was about the Warriors’ plan to win-and-develop simultaneously, it isn’t lost on the veteran core how that plan disappeared in the postseason. It was all on them again, with the help of some critical vets. The Warriors lost several key players who were pivotal during the playoff run. Otto Porter Jr., Gary Payton II, even Nemanja Bjelica, are all gone. Payton and Porter preferred to stay but left for more money than the Warriors were willing to offer, protecting against the rising tax. That means the Warriors’ chances of winning another title hinge on capturing lightning in a bottle with another crop of role players or growth from the youth. Either scenario is only possible with Curry, Green and Thompson in tow, the core is convinced, which makes them worthy of contract extensions that allow them to stick together.” ——————— you nostalgia, you lose.
I don't care about Lacob's bank account. If the Warriors pay Draymond the max for nostalgia, good for him. If I'm the Warriors, I'd be more concerned that his salary would mean they are forced to keep him in a role he's not capable of playing any more as opposed to the tax implications. I think it's more likely that Kuminga is better than Draymond by the end of next season than it is that Draymond is still better than Kuminga in 3 years.
I just don’t see how you can be that bad offensively and get the max. He has value in the Warriors system but hasn’t improved at all since 2019. and if that back acts up again..
The Tucker deal was reported a week or more before FA started, and it's against the rules if they already have a long term deal with Harden worked out beyond his next contract to make his pay cut worth his while.
Not to be too macabre, but Russell is only the 5th MVP in league history to pass. NBA player longevity is pretty incredible.
He was the guest speaker at my HS basketball team banquet and I got a couple pictures with him from some team awards I won and he autographed stuff for our entire team. He was a great old timer.
