https://patch.com/illinois/orlandpark/fight-breaks-out-sky-zone-orland-park-saturday-police Everybody involved should be prosecuted. What the fuck is wrong with these people? 800 people at a school lock-in event in a trampoline park that has a capacity of 260.
Mentioned it in the election thread but thought I’d drop this here as well for those who haven’t voted yet.
I wish I shared that here. I found that tremendously valuable when researching I voted no on these fuckers Spoiler MICHAEL P TOOMAN MANILA MARTIN KENNETH J. WADAS KERRY M. KENNEDY] MAURICIO ARAUJO JACKIE MARIE PORTMAN-BROWN DIANA ROSARIO JOHN J. MAHONEY

Not at all surprising ad the owners seemed like massive pieces of shit and doesn't seem like a place that could adapt to Covid, but still is bad to lose a second Michelin restaurant in a week (Everest being the other - also not surprising)
I never actually wanted to go there because the location sucks , but once youre there, it's a good time. However most bars are a good time when youre shitfaced @ 3am
It would have meant no alcohol service from the east side of Ashland and west side of Southport between Addison and Waveland. And the police and Tunney all claim the bar did nothing wrong and did everything they should have. Granted, I imagine that the owner has been loyal to Tunney over time and is being repaid here. That's how he works. It's a slippery slope if they shut down businesses everywhere something bad happens.
Has anyone done North Pond's pickup? I just ordered it for tonight. I was torn between North Pond and Galit but NP is doing greek this weekend so I thought I'd give it a shot.
Posted about this in the bad cops thread. They raised the bridges last night. Lightfoot, and the family's lawyers are pleading for peaceful demonstrations. Theyve been trying to set expectations of how bad the video is. Cops originally said the kid had the gun. They backed off that stance a little
I live on Wells in River North where a lot of the destruction went down last year. I'm feeling some major anxiety right now, needless to say, from witnessing a lot of that first hand. Debating if it makes sense to leave the city for a few days. This just sucks all the way around.
I didnt see a gun in his hands or one drop or on the ground when the cop got to him. It’s kind of hard to tell. If there’s not a gun, it’s hard to imagine a worse shooting. Cop said raise your hands, he did and the cop shot him and the fucking city attorneys lied about him having a gun
Absolute tragedy. Not sure how the city will respond, but man... the city attorney that misspoke set such an awful tone here.
I too used to live on Wells in River North. Last May was the scariest shit. I’m out of town, otherwise I absolutely would be leaving for the weekend.
Just saw there were rumors that Lori was going to resign because she got caught cheating on her wife w a member of her police detail. I found out because she actually felt the need to refute the rumors. This city man...
What’s going to be wild is when the police union spent an extraordinary amount of effort setting up the affair solely to get back at her.
On one hand it’s so ridiculous to believe it’s true. I doubt it is. On the other hand, CPD setting this up so they can blackmail her is completely believable
I haven't been down in this area for a long time, but something like this would make sense if every 3 flat apartment building in LP is going to be torn down for single family homes. They probably are starting at 14 stories knowing it will be revised down to 9.
I’m blocked by the paywall. Where is it? Traffic is so terrible in Lincoln Park that additional density probably isn’t great.
I developed the student apartment building across the street - 1237 W Fullerton - in 2010. And back then the neighbors were absolutely furious about an apartment building going there (it was formerly Coyne Institute’s academic building). It would negatively impact their property values, drunk college kids would deface their homes…every hysterical argument they could think of. All of which were completely wrong of course.
What area would you target to stay if you have six 30-35 year olds trying to act like they are not over 30 and having a bachelor party for the last guy in the squad to get married? Late August timeframe. Seriously any help would be appreciated, I am lost. Last time I visited Chicago it was pre kids and we had an absolute blast.
