I prefer the ones that have a wider opening, so I can stick my nose in there. Mine aren't very expensive. I got them on ebay and I love them. They are on a Kentucky Bourbon Trail branded piece of wood. IO also have a set from Crate and Barrel, but I don't like them as much because they are taller and narrower. I use these, and I love them. Hard to drink out of a lowball after using a glencairn. https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Offici...kRcU2PJ:sc:ShippingMethodStandard!11050!US!-1 This is the set I have. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Libbey-Sig...886542&hash=item3b3626152e:g:3jAAAOSw01pdO-FV
No. Only 3 people in the store at one time, standing in designated areas. Only the associates can touch the bottles. No cash exchange.
Birmingham, Al. Normally the release of allocated items gets leaked but not this time; there was no line. They had Stagg Jr, BT, Hancock Reserve, Joseph Magnus and CEHT Single Barrel also
Just had to go food shopping. What a shit show. People are just stupid and selfish. In any case, I decided I needed to disinfect with Stagg Jr. 132.3.
The announcements are saying respect a 6 foot social distance and only one family member per family can shop at a time. Instead I was dodging idiots stepping in front of me to grab stuff and there were several couples who were literally blocking aisles while they decided what was the best brand of whatever the fuck they were looking at that they could agree upon. There is no reason to shop by committee right now and because they were side by side you couldn't avoid them.
blind tasting tonight as part of a bourbon bracket. The RR crushed the OFBB. It really wasn’t even close. If I’m being totally honest, the OFBB wasn’t just not as good, it wasn’t good at all. Tasting blind can lead to some surprising results.
I probably should’ve explained the seeding. It’s a group of us, each doing our own 8-bottle bracket, and seeding is based on availability as opposed to quality. Allocated bottles all have higher seedings
Exactly. It’s one of the most best bourbons out there at that price point because of its utility as an excellent mixer and acceptable sipper.
Guys, has anyone had the OKI 12 year batch 41 (last batch)? I have an opportunity to trade for one but would take an ETL100 although I'd probably ask for some $$ back as I don't think they are quite even in value.
What's the consensus on Barrel Bourbon? Seems like it is highly rated depending on the batch but I'm also skeptical of higher priced bottles that are always on the shelves
I'm fine with errbody thinking OGD 114 is a mixer or is "acceptable". Y'all are right, now lets leave the topic alone and the bottles on the shelf.
