Will be heading over about 2 this afternoon, first time all year. Can't wait.

Getting dinner at Basin tonight (http://www.basinseafoodnola.com/#!dinner/c188i), I've never been, but their menu looks pretty good.

Pre-wedding party at Napoleon House tonight.

Brunch at Court of Two Sisters tomorrow, one of my favorite spots.

    Wedding reception at Brennan's.

Hell of a weekend. Ate at Basin Friday night, really good seafood. Would recommend.

Saturday for brunch ate at Red Dog Diner on Magazine St., was incredible. Had never been there before. Wedding reception was at Brennan's.

Also had some amazing Vietnamese for lunch today. Tan Dinh, which is actually in Gretna. Highly recommend.

One of my friends did sound for tips. I stayed with her jazzfest 11 or 12, can't remember. I saw her maybe a couple hours the whole weekend and got into one free show.

Point is, no one has a 'hookup' anywhere for the next few weeks. Everyone in the industry is crazy busy and certainly not putting a random internet friend on any guest lists or pouring out free booze to them either.

Not trying to be a dick, but I can't imagine what your expected response would be from your post.

Unless you're a flirty chick who has been on the scene, or know a musician personally, you ain't gettin shit hooked up during Jazzfest

Good god man, chill the fuck out. I was wondering if anyone had 2 tickets I could fucking buy off of them. I get on here to have someone go off on me for a simple fucking question? Get fucked

That's not what you asked. You asked for a hookup at tips during jazzfest. Nothing about wanting to buy tickets.

Tickets for tips shows are like $20-25 and aren't sold out, idk why you'd need a hookup...

Don't blame me because you asked a dumb question with out any context.

The show I want to go to is sold out. I just wanted to hear from someone that might have a connection. Happy 420

You too. Sorry for being a dick, but with out context of why you were asking for a hookup, the post seemed a bit presumptuous. My bad.

My best suggestion is to try and bribe the doorman with a $50. Or Craigslist.

Even if someone did have a hookup there, people in the industry are impossible to track down or give out favors these weeks, best of luck.

Saturday's not a bad day to go to the fest, galactic is there, but early iirc. Think you also get pearl jam and Van Morrison, too.

That does suck about St. Paul. I'll probably try and slide the bouncer some weed to get in that show. Both nights sold out too, bummer.

Read where the city of New Orleans isn't very happy with all the people using Airbnb during Jazzfest this year. Airbnb had 20,000 listings for this weekend.[IMG]

Think we'll go to 2 or 3 of these restaurants for dinner on the Bachelor trip next weekend. No telling what kind of shape we're liable to be in at dinner time, so nothing extremely nice. Decent choices or could I do better?

That's really good. Like Phupa said, hard to go wrong with oysters anywhere in the city.

Don't eat them raw this time of the year, though. Wait until the water is colder.

That's the easy way to remember it, but doesn't work with everything---it's really just when the water is cold. When the water is warm, there's a much, much higher amount of the bacteria that can make you really sick (including fatally) with the oysters. For example, I won't eat them in September because it's usually still warm. Sometimes early October can still be warm, same with April (although the water is usually still cold in April, even if the weather is beginning to warm up).

While warmer water temperatures will increase the risk of being sick, the whole when to eat oysters and when not to is a bit outdated. Now that boats have refrigeration/cooling systems to keep the oysters cold they can be raked year round. Back in the day, boats were not equipped like they are now and they would get bad from the time they were raked to when the boats got to the marina.
