I think they would’ve been able to make it work before trading for Granlund. There were also rumors of Petterson going out in such a deal and his AAV is somewhere in the ballpark of $5M. They could’ve made it work and frankly still could if Petterson gets moved (pls don’t, Ron)

Kulikov is a player who should have had so much better of a career than he has had. He's very physically gifted, has a solid hockey IQ, and hasn't really had injury issues. He should have been at worst one of those #3/#4 d-men that is always on a team in the playoffs. Instead he's been a bottom pairing guy who just never produced the way he should.
