look around the NHL. most of the elite guys were late round picks. projecting goalies is a complete crap shoot.
Sens should have gassed Boucher and brought in Hitch as interim for the rest of the year. Look if they aren’t going to win again this season may as well learn some D coverage.
Sabres record in 1 goal games Reg 3-0 OT 4-2 SO 3-0 9/10 games in this streak have been decided by one goal. Never seen anything like this. Don't think playing with fire like this is sustainable, but when you put together a 10 game win streak, all you have to do is play at an 81 point pace the rest of the season and you make the playoffs with 100+ points.
So LA is going to be trying to unload Kovalchuk pretty soon. What contender can afford him? The Sharks?
I thought he was a pretty solid GM. I think his signings have been good here (Parise, suter, staal) but he seemed reluctant to move his own guys his staff have developed... i didn't think he was very creative. A couple of bad mid season trades along the way.
These gms are fucking hilariously bad most of the times, signing alzner was an awful idea and everybody in this thread knew it. These gm’s are clowns. Kovalchuk was obviously just trying to grab a few more millions, he was average in the khl and you sign him to this deal? No wonder Vegas almost won the cup last year
I love it right now, just stoned this team that I hate in my beer league. They had nothing I could not stop tonight and they finally quit. It was 2-1 starting the third, big pp for them and another big save and a few routine saves that I made look so easy. At some point you can feel the saves taking a toll on them. I love this feeling. We won 8-1
This was just absolutely crazy. Marner breaks his stick and grabs a new one on the 3 on 2 rush and sets up Tavares
The speculation of players (Matthews/Arizona/14 million, being the latest) being offer sheeted is dumb to me. Players don't want to be on a rebuilding team (Almost no team that could be a contender is going to have the cap space) with no ability to sign other top players, nor the ability to supplement the team with good players on cheap ELC's.
In the case of anyone else signing for 14 mil, youre doing it for one year, and you’re likely having an understanding that at the end of that one year, you’re signing a long term deal with no fear of that player signing a sheet elsewhere.
Idk the backstory behind this but Ken Campbell is such a fucking weirdo. "The time is nigh" who says that
Yeah, I'm referring to the idea of Matthews ending up in Arizona. A. the leafs would match it and B. I'm not even sure Matthews would sign it in the first place, as going to a team that would still be several pieces away from contending with almost no ability to get them would be quite unpalatable.
If I was Arizona I’d offer sheet AM when he is RFA. Give him a 4 year deal for max money. Now he’d have to agree to it, which he won’t, but if you could you’d get Toronto to match. But you’d also make sure he would become UFA at 27. Won’t happen but it would be a smart play. Matthews would save the Arizona franchise.
