One thing I miss about drinking is trying new beers on Christmas. Always fun to crack a stout at 9am.
Yeah. Was a military brat growing up. Lived in Colorado for 7 years. Saw my fair share and then some. Also saw plenty after graduating from ND. Big reason why I moved back to Cali in the end. Perfect weather is worth the cost of living. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. I’m in shorts smoking a pork shoulder in my backyard right now. It’s magnificent.
I could never move to FL like most NYers do. But having good weather year round but be fun. I need to experience snow every now and then. But I don't need it for 3 months.
I’m getting progressively pissed off knowing ND is going to be embarrassed again on a national stage in a week shit sucks
Built up so much goodwill from the talking heads, only to get buzzsawed by a pissed off Clemson and then Alabama. Would have been better off trying our luck with one shot at Trevor Lawrence in the ACC title, as opposed to Clemson figuring out and exploiting all of our weaknesses from the first game.
Can’t sweat it man. Takes all of the fun out of it. Let’s see what happens Jan 1. Who knows, we might end up pleasantly surprised.
I’m at this place now. We are a top 5ish team consistently and hopefully top 15 in our down years just enjoying the ride.
Honestly don’t care. I’ll absolutely love if and when we win one of these, but I haven’t thought about the team since Saturday and could not care less about next weeks game Loved this season and I’m looking forward to what comes next.
ND has the best resume for any team that will get blown out by Bama, so embrace the fact that ND is solid top 3-4 team in a season where there are two elite teams.
Their defense isn't all that. Tommy and Book need to take risks. Book just needs to throw the ball downfield.
The only way we make it interesting is if the o line plays the best game of any unit on the field that day. I'm not saying that's enough to win, but if we can run the ball we might be able to hold serve for a decent amount of the game.
I would not accept an invitation to his house though, something about « welcome to Guantanamo « does not sound great to me.
I wouldn't mind looking at Jack Coan from Wisconsin. He's a serviceable QB whose used to a run first play action team. I dont think he'd elevate us to national title status but if Buchner is the guy they think he is I wouldn't mind him sitting one season to get used to things. Unless Pyne is Drew Brees level I really hope he doesn't win the job. Just too many physical limitations to be elite unless he's a savant who is the most accurate guy ever aka Drew Brees.
i don’t want that, I would rather take some losses while Buchner gets some experience. But I get your idea
Because I don't think it will go well. And I don't think he'll end his coaching career by failing in the NFL
that seems on schedule for a notre dame wide receiver, anything before three years is either a bonus or a mistake.
So just to be clear here - when Phil committed to ND on 5/16/2016, he was ranked #9 overall on 247. Everybody wanted him and ND was very fortunate to get his commitment at that time and all ND fans were incredibly excited. His ranking obviously fell over time but I think he's shown at BC he can play. He finished as a top 100 recruit in the 247 Composite. He would have been the starter going into 2021 had he stayed. Brendan Clark was taken because of the Cade McNamara decommitment (who apparently decommitted because he had second thoughts about competing with 5* Phil) which left ND scrambling a bit. If memory serves me correctly, he was deciding between being the 2nd QB in Clemson's class and ND. Drew Pyne was ranked in the top 50 of Rivals class when he committed to ND on 4/16/2018 and everyone was thrilled ND got him at that time. He obviously dropped in the rankings but he was by far the best QB on his team in the all star game and showed out. He finished as a 4 star recruit in the 247 composite. Buchner was the #49 recruit overall when he committed on 3/8/2019 on 247. Many thought he was the best QB in his class. He obviously had a bad camp season as limited as it was and he didn't get to play his senior season because of Covid. Even with all of that, he still finished ranked 88 on the 247 composite. I'm not going to comment on Angeli until he's committed to ND so we'll how that goes, but out of the past 4 QBs, you've got 2 top 100 guys, 1 4 star, and a 3 star (because of a decommitment) who had a legit Clemson offer. If you look at the point in time when they committed, they were all viewed as ELITE prospects and all ND fans were thrilled to have them. Like I said, it's not recruiting, it's QB development.
Pyne had a really early offer from Alabama but then never grew. He’s actually incredibly accurate and throws a great ball. Just 5’10.
