https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5701128/2024/12/01/college-football-playoff-projections-odds/ Both the 5 and 6 are great paths
We like this projection https://collegefootballnews.com/college-football/cfp-projections-alabama-ohio-state-seed-2024
Huge difference if chalk holds UGA winning would mess with us Side note Franklin finally gets to play for a B1G title even though he can’t beat OSU is kind of hilarious- what stupidity these mega leagues are
Oregon is favored by 3.5 pts over PSU. If I could bet online in CA, Id pour money on that line. Oregon is gonna mop the floor with them.
Can’t be understated how big of a deal no Cross and KVA were yesterday to the pass rush. Kiser getting stonewalled on every blitz got old pretty quick yesterday
Freeman just mentioned as a name to keep an eye on for the Bears job on the Fox pregame show, fwiw (very little)
Been a topic of convo for the last couple of weeks. We’re hoping it’s his agent putting pressure on an extension.
Gotcha yeah I don't pop in here too often because you guys are smelly and stuff. But it was the first I had heard his name over the weekend and thought it was interesting in that the assumption is the Bears will go for an offensive-minded HC, but the report was more of them looking for a "leader of men". Also the Ball State job is open if Freeman really wants to upgrade.
If anyone associated with ND is looking to join a conference, it certainly won’t be the MAC. Too tough a path imo.
watching Chuck get stuck forever at Miami probably changed a lot of coaches minds on that conference Purdue should hire Chuck honestly, he’d be cheap and they’d instantly improve to 5-7 wins
Thinking about what this offense could be if they had a Jeremiyah Love at WR. Dude just took it to another level and had a fuck you attitude every time he touched the ball yesterday. Hope like hell he's healthy and ready to go for the playoff.
That's the point of needing more elite playmakers. It makes you better in spite of flaws in other areas.
Early returns on the Love injury not sounding great. Prister saying it is a knee thing and not a shin bruise as they speculated yesterday. Already messaging about how it might be challenging for him to be ready to play in 3 weeks
yes and Love should be ok (I’m basing this entirely off him celebrating after the game normally) Jeter will get fixed
Yesterday was the first day it really felt like we were playing down like 4-5 of our best defensive players (Cross, Bohtelho, Traore, Morrison, KVA) because of the lack of pressure and picking on Grey all day. And yet still somehow we never trailed and needed some wildness to have the game close late. Get two of them healthy and we should be able to be pretty stout
as much as it was annoying I think having a game like that where you need to overcome some shit was probably the Best thing for this team. They needed a Little adversity
#4 in both the AP and Coaches And if the votes actually mean anything, we’re extremely close to Penn State. So it wouldn’t shock me if we jump them assuming they don’t win or lose extremely close to Oregon
Such a big difference between 5 and 6. I just did the espn predictor and if Psu wins probably means ND gets 6 and Oregon 5 and their opponents could be 11 Alabama and 12 Arizona St. no thanks but then again fuck bama
I do agree. Just hoping for some luck once with ND getting a team like Arizona st and not Bama as a round 1.
We’re already prettty much neck and neck with PSU. We played USC better than they did and if people are going to discount our TAMU win for playing Weigman, our win against Maiava is even better So pretty much if we are literally tied with them now, I’m not sure how we don’t move past them if they lose to Oregon. I get that teams don’t get punished in conference titles, but what have they done to earn the 5 seed? Losing to two good teams?
their loss to osu doesn’t look as good anymore and nd beat better opponents, also nd won by More and controled the games More against the 2 common opponents. Seems like a no brainer to me
I don’t follow re suiting often anymore but started looking at the current class recently is it me or does it seem underwhelming?
think everyone was expecting a closing bump and they aren’t going to add anyone now so yea it’s average
I said if they got Parnham and Fariamo I'd have no issues with this class but they are going to whiff on both, it is definitely a step down from the previous two classes but the OL, TE, DB classes are excellent (shocking that OL and TE are good). Thankfully recruiting misses can be rectified in the portal era and they will likely not be spending money on a QB this time so they can go big game hunting on the spots they missed
I doubt it with how strong Florida closed, I think he visited Gainesville twice since he visited ND. Fariamo, him, and any receiver with a pulse would have put this class in line with the previous Freeman classes but they are going to fall just short. Weird they are not getting a late bump with how the season has gone
Man, I’m so pumped right now. This whole season has had a certain level of misery to it after the NIU loss, hearing people bring it up every moment, wonder if that will keep us out of the playoffs, what would happen if we no-show one more game, etc. And now when it’s said and done, we just mashed opponents for 10 straight games, are the #1 in Sagarin and #2 in FPI, might end up with the easiest route to the semis and probably have the best chance for an ND title in 3 decades Gonna enjoy this for the next couple weeks - finally feels like we get to enjoy the season with no restriction
Wilftong put in a prediction for ND for this prospect who announces in like an hour: https://www.on3.com/db/chaston-smith-153110/ Love when these guys spoil the kid's announcements, hope he announces for someone else because it is so early in the game with these commitments that it does not matter and would like to see him get burnt.
