West Ham linked with lots of names... * offer for Lacazette was declined * offer for Carlos Bacca was declined * made and offer to Lyon for Samuel Umtiti... I can see this getting declined after he shows at the Euro that he's France's best defender. Other teams will come after him. * interested in Roberto Pereyra * signed Gokhan Tore from Bestikas. * had early interest in Batshuayi
Gunners getting hardy for Vardy? If they're the ones responsible for breaking up that Leicester team, a lot of people that have neutral feelings about Arsenal will switch to actively disliking them. Which might actually be a good thing for them. Polarizing teams tend to be more successful.
Everyone loves Leicester. If Arsenal break them up, it will make them unpopular to a lot of people. Like Chelsea or Manchester United. Pretty much every top team in Europe are either loved or hated within their own countries. Arsenal isn't universally hated by people that don't consider themselves Arsenal fans. If Arsenal had a start like Chelsea did this season, there wouldn't be very much schaduenfreude.
Sky Sports Football @SkyFootball 15m15 minutes ago Sky sources: Manchester United to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic before Euro 2016: http://skysports.tv/RnJN5n
Zlatan and his ridiculous streak of winning a league title will be put to the test. I wonder if he'll be there next year when Mourinho wins the league in his second season like he always does. The narrative with City/United will be amazing with Jose and Zlatan and their hatred of Pep.
I bet there will be some kind of ordeal over which number he'll have. I don't see him accepting any other number that isn't 9 or 10 without throwing some kind of fit. Neither Rooney or Martial deserve to have their numbers taken away.
To be fair, I don't watch really any Ligue 1 and goheels watches quite a bit so while he might be overrating him he certainly knows a lot more about Umtiti than I do
I went back and read my original post about Umtiti and realized I'm the victim of my own poorly structured sentence. Here's what I typed. What I meant to say was "after he shows that he's France's best defender at the Euro". Meaning that Laporte, Varane, and Zouma aren't part of the equation. Yes, I like him more than Koscielny. Sorry about that.
I don't think it's inconceivable at all that Umtiti is better than Koscielny but none of the others(I don't know a ton about Laporte) have been better than Koscielny.
Fair enough. Is Umtiti even going to be able to unseat Mangala or Rami coming into the squad this late? Not that he isn't better than them but I could see him playing very little at the Euros.
who knows. L'Equipe has been reporting a bunch of infighting in the squad over the past week or so. such a shitstorm.
Speaking of Pogba, read in a few spots that 60 million Euros Probably my favorite squad to follow internationally. I hope Mourinho coaches them one day.
I was thinking the same. Dont even care if he'll only be with the team for 1 year. One of soccer's best personalities and still a damn fine player at age 34. Props to Arsenal making a play at Vardy as well. I don't know if he'll have quite the same year as last year, but for only a $20m release clause I would say it's worth a shot.
Hey, can someome who follows La Liga closely tell us United folks about this Eric Bailly kid from Villareal? Well, let me cut to the chase. How well, if applicable, did he defend against Messi & Ronaldo? That's about as fair of a litmus test I can think of.
Swansea linked with Johnathan Biabiany. Not sure how I feel about him. Played with Guidolin before and has pace. That seems to be about it.
With Barrow and Montero, I don't think that a quick little winger is the priority this offseason. Jeff may want out after the way he wasn't used by Guidolin, though.
And of course speculation immediately begins that Bayern are after Weigl. Hope BVB can hold on to him for a couple more seasons.
Why is no one else going after nampalys mendy? The price isn't too high, he is 23, has played well in the French league and Leicester want him. I think leicester's track record is good enough that I would rather go after him than some player recommended by an agent.
Vincent Janssen is reportedly in London working out the details for a transfer to Tottenham, according to De Telegraaf. Wasn't my personal top target but Poch scouted him in person a couple weeks ago.
not really a transfer, but Griezmann just signed a new 5 year deal with Atletico. brilliant move for both sides.
Word. I thought he had been starting for Hannover, but looks like he was moved to a back up role this past season.
