Saturday, July 27 Little Caesars Arena, Detroit, MI (DAZN) Time: 9 p.m. ET / 2 a.m. UK (Sunday) Main event ringwalks (approx): 12 a.m. ET (Sunday) / 5 a.m. UK (Sunday) Claressa Shields -4000 Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse +1600 Claressa Shields vs Vanessa Lepaige-Joanisse, light heavyweights, 10 rounds, for Lepaige-Joanisse’s WBC heavyweight title, vacant WBO light heavyweight title, and vacant interim WBA light heavyweight title Michel Rivera vs Hugo Roldan, super lightweights, 10 rounds Shohjahon Ergashev vs Julian Smith, super lightweights, 10 rounds Shields is out of things to do in boxing because she’s beaten everyone there is to beat. In this one, she fights for a “heavyweight title” and a “light heavyweight title,” two divisions that functionally do not exist in women’s boxing. Shields hasn’t stopped anyone in seven years but I’m sure the promise of the elusive TKO will be part of the pre-fight talk. The undercard is pretty dull on paper, but Shields sells tickets in Detroit, they aren’t going to spend money on the rest of the show. *************************************************************************************************** O2 Arena, London, England (ESPN+) Time: 7 p.m. UK / 2 p.m. ET Main event ringwalks (approx): 10 p.m. UK / 5 p.m. ET Derek Chisora +340 Joe Joyce -460 Joe Joyce vs Derek Chisora, heavyweights, 12 rounds Dennis McCann vs Ionut Baluta, super bantamweights, 12 rounds Ryan Garner vs Archie Sharp, super featherweights, 10 rounds Raven Chapman vs Yohana Sarabia, featherweights, 10 rounds Moses Itauma vs Mariusz Wach, heavyweights, 10 rounds Also airing on TNT Sports in the UK. Could be a slugfest, could be a slog. Seems an admission from within that Joyce is not going to be a serious contender again. Chisora’s lost four of six but those losses were to Usyk, Parker (twice), and Fury, so, like, three of the current top four heavyweights in the world. He’s not good at this point, but he tends to grind out wins when the opponent isn’t elite.
Here's a TNT broadcast so we can see the current fight. https://the.streameast.app/stream/boxing/joe-joyce-vs-derek-chisora-live-stream
Here's the Olympic Boxing schedule and seeds. Looks like we have a good heavyweight. https://www.badlefthook.com/2024/7/...eeding-key-matchups-medal-picks-olympics-2024
Depends on which Joyce we get. Can he walk through walls like pre-Zhang Joyce or has he never recovered from those Zhang losses
I think Joyce is prob mind fucked from those Zhang losses. That second Zhang loss it looked like he had zero confidence in what he was doing
I thought Joyce won that but that knockdown made it tricky. It was hard for me to know who was winning rounds
This is how trash talk and shit talking should be. With a lot of good laughs and respect from both guys
I think Crawford might lose. He's gone up a lot in weight recently and I'm not sure I see it on his frame. Madrimov isn't a tin can. I guess we'll see
Right now there's 2 guys I don't think will ever lose until I hear the decision and that is Crawford and Inoue
I love Bud. I'm just not sure about him going up so much in weight. He's my p4p #1 after dismantling Errol who's prob a top 5 p4p guy
