Man that Saints game yesterday was just an exercise in the Seahawks stepping on their dicks. Spotted them 21 points with bad special teams, a fumble for a TD, and having a penalty on a missed FG that turned into a TD.
Tyron, La'el, and Martin all made the PFF team of the week this week lol Through 3 games (among players who have played all 3 games) for the offense on PFF: Dak #2 QB - 90.4 overall grade (86.0 passing, 82.5 running, 86.1 fumble, #1 in adj completion % at 81.7%) Zeke #9 RB - 77.8 overall grade (82.8 running, 57.3 receiving, 20.5 pass block) Tony Pollard #14 RB - 75.5 overall grade (76.4 running, 73.3 receiving, 21.2 pass block) Amari Cooper #29 WR - 73.5 overall grade (74.6 receiving, 39.8 drop, 73.3 fumble) Gallup would be #4 WR if he'd played in all 3 - 84.2 overall grade (85.0 receiving, 63.5 drop, 72.3 fumble) Witten #16 TE - 66.0 overall grade (66.0 receiving, 78.0 drop, 71.1 fumble, 70.2 blocking) La'el Collins #1 OT - 90.6 overall grade (79.3 pass block, 91.2 run block) Tyron Smith #3 OT - 83.6 overall grade (90.3 pass block, 73.2 run block) Zack Martin #4 OG - 79.7 overall grade (88.2 pass block, 74.7 run block) Connor Williams #40 OG - 58.1 overall grade (60.7 pass block, 58.7 run block) Travis Frederick #15 OC - 61.3 overall grade (63.2 pass block, 59.3 run block)
Not too shabby at all. Man I cannot say enough good shit about La'el. He has absolutely taken it to another level this year
What's sad is Connor has that score with the players around him. Imagine average players bookending him
OL (other than Connor Williams) is going to be salty AF once Frederick gets totally back in the groove
I am almost to the point where I want to put Xavier Sua'Filo back into that spot and see what happens. The pass protection has been good enough and the results have been great enough that it isnt a glaring issue but man wiping out 75 Yards TDs isnt gonna fly against the packers or the Pats
Yeah its very weird. When I watched the all 22 of last years playoff game vs LA for my podcast, I was amazed at how well he did against Aaron Donald. You'd think AD would absolutely light this guy up but he held his own. Then you watch a different game and he looks like someone doing an Ereck Flowers impression. Its an enigma
Hope the WR corp can stay healthy. We have 2 tough games back to back and Gallup is on the sidelines. Amari had an MRI on his ankle yesterday. They said its precautionary and nothing happened but you never like to hear about MRIs.
expect our playcalling to be frustratingly gimicky. We are doing anyting to pull one of 2 more games out of our asses till brees returns so we are cleaning out the playbook on sunday
Fully expect to see Kamara touch the ball 25+ times. If we dont have a plan for him and some solid tackling, he is gonna put on a show
i think there are no linebackers in the league that match up better than the 2 monsters yall have. I honestly think we are going to focus more on Michael Thomas and Taysom Hill
We will have to see if they really try to exploit that. Byron/Chido did a good job of taking MT out of the equation last year. Bridgewater threw like 90% short passes against Seattle. I think the number 1 priority is getting pressure. If Quinn can keep doing what he did last week in the 2nd half and Tank and Malik follow suit, we can force Teddy to abandon the deeper routes. I think there is a decent chance this turns into somewhat of a shootout. Saints have given up 27+ in every game. We haven't looked elite on defense (although we are giving up 14 a game, obviously the competition is an issue). I think the Cowboys will be able to move the ball, its a matter of stopping the Saints. If they can get to Teddy and tackle Kamara, they can definitely win this game. If they let Teddy get comfy and let Kamara do Kamara things, it could get ugly
Tank leads our team with 10 QB pressures. Quinn is 2nd with 7 QB pressures. Quinn has played 1 game lol
Can't believe we just got him for a 6th Like I understand that was just the Dolphins but Quinn has still got it, he's quick as hell around the edge
Yeah I was surprised at his explosiveness. And then the dudes motor doesn’t stop, stoked to see the rest of the year with him
Pass rush is really solid right now with those two off the edge and then a healthy Maliek Collins in the middle. Then you've got a handful of guys you can mix in with them or in for them in Crawford, Hyder, Covington, Woods, and Armstrong. Remember when we were counting on Benson Mayowa and George Selvie to generate pass rush?
I see we have also decided like Seattle that the best way to play the Saints is to step all over your own dick
just missed the last 5 min of the game because i literally almost shit my pants. looks like witten did the same
Yeah but great time to cut away for more commercials instead of showing a good replay angle. Fucking NFL.
Alright. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. Every call went their way. Every good play got fucked up by penalty or fumble. And we are down 9-3. This team has been way better in the 2nd half of games. Obviously we arent gonna get any help from the zebras. Lets fucking go boys
