I'm on my way now to the deer lease. Anyone else going hunting this weekend? Or has anyone already got something?
Re: opening weekend of hunting season damn I was gonna start a tmb deer camp thread tommorow. Good luck man. Post pics if you/when you get one
Re: opening weekend of hunting season starts next weekend in missouri, 8 days in the country with booze and guns, cant fucking wait
Re: opening weekend of hunting season Nice sounds fun. I'm hoping to get me a trophy buck this weekend then can just bag up on turkey the rest of the season.
Re: opening weekend of hunting season We've been open here for 4 weeks... Muzzleloader for 5 weeks... and bow for 7 weeks... Already sacked a 125lb doe (opening weekend of Muzzleloader)
Re: opening weekend of hunting season i eat the shit out of the meat So I take anything decent doe wise and trophy hunt the bucks. For land owner in missouri I get 2 doe and 1 anything tag but I have the omish process it so its about 80 bucks deer so that adds up money wise
Re: opening weekend of hunting season I live in SC. Our deer season started back on Aug. 15 for bucks only and doe season opened on Sept. 15. I've killed two does at 90 and 110 lbs. and a 105 lb. cowhorn last night. We still have two months left for our season.
Re: opening weekend of hunting season got an 8 point saturday morning will try and upload a pic saw 8 pigs and 2 turkey but never had a shot on them i mad
I haven't been able to go but once this year due to school. Once Thanksgiving roles around it will be a different story though, our rut usually matches up perfectly with my week off of school.
Went pheasant hunting a couple weeks ago. My buddy went up to his land in Alabama last weekend, I will be going up to shoot deer there in a couple weeks.
Duck season opens up down here in south Louisiana this weekend and I can't be more fired up, anyone else big duck hunters
never even thought about going duck hunting...i just couldnt see myself killing ducks even though i kill pretty much everything else.
Duck is the only type of hunting I do now...LOVE it. The gf is about to murder me though spending so much money but it is all good (I have a lot more than she thinks I do and spend more haha). Guy should have my blind finished up for the boat by the weekend. I've been shooting a lot and I'm ready to go. I go up here in the Upstate some but I enjoy going on the intercoastal a lot more.
I get two bucks at the place i hunt so it's not bad for my 1st one of the season but i'm going to make sure the 2nd one is a fucking monster. Also tht was my first hunt of being by myself i have hunted with my grandpa for 10 years and now i finally took my hunter education course and am hunting by myself now.
How is duck hunting? I've never been but been offered to go with friends a couple times. I go dove hunting all the time...is it like that at all?
I just can't see myself killing duck or eating it even though i hunt hog, deer, turkey, dove, exotics and pretty much anything that moves.
Duck hunting is the best type of hunting, end of story. I hunt whitetail religiously, basically go every weekend and use my two weeks of paid vacation during the rut every year... but with duck hunting, you can talk, cook breakfast, drink beer or anything else in the blind during the hunt, it's amazing, plus if you get good at calling I promise you will never be more hooked than that first time you work a big group of mallards, it will be the end of you.
Damn sounds like i need to take up one of my friends offers to go duck hunting then. I need to get a fucking license for duck hunting though. Also do all of yall hunt deer out of a blind? I do but when i went to kill my black buck i tracked it down and that was the coolest fucking experience ever i want to hunt like that all of the time.
Duck hunting is so bad ass there's nothing Like that moment when the sun starts to rise and you see literally thousands of birds flying around you on the horizon
I could see how that would be fun, but its a lot different in GA when you are looking in the sky for a handful of woodducks
Trust me, you could. I've duck hunted way less than any other kind of hunting but when its good I might agree that its the best. If you're with someone that can call and you can really get them to light, they are pretty damn easy to drop out of the sky.
Never got into deer, duck and turkey are the only hunting I do. Duck hunting is the best part about living in norcal, one of best places to shoot waterfowl in
Weather is getting colder, bow season opened in mid Oct., gun season usually comes around the Iron Bowl, can't fucking wait.
There's already a hunting thread on here somewhere. Regardless, thanksgiving weekend can;t get here soon enough. The little cold front we had last weekend has gotten me fucking ready to get out and bust some ducks.
you can kill a deer and not a duck? go duck hunting once, and you'll be hooked for life. i don't even think i went deer hunting once last year.
Well i dont have any land to go duck hunting so i will have to go get a license and go to my friends place. Would a 20 gauge work?
you can get a solid shotgun for duck hunting and not break the bank. the benelli nova is a pretty solid shotgun, and it will run you anywhere from around 350-600 bucks. personally, i wouldn't go with anything that won't shoot at least 3 inch shells, but i did start out using my grandfathers old gun that only shot 2 3/4 in shells.
I haven't killed jack shit yet. Hunt in Georgia and with a buddy of mine up in Marianna , Fl on the Appalachicola(sp) River. Up on the river I have a picture of two giants, a 10 and an 8. prob never see the bastards but at least gives me some excitement looking forward. Planning to wax some does next week out behind my house. have 25 acres back there with quite a few deer but in this part of the state just aren't that big. They di however have 2 hams and 2 backstraps
heading out to country tomorrow with 8 days of hunting to follow. fun fact, I have to wear a patch when I hunt cuz I can't open one eye when the other is closed. I got plenty of nicknames to look forward to this week
Can't wait to head to the duck camp tomorrow morning. Cleaned all my calls this week and have everything ready to go. I hope that temperature keeps going down.
