I love it long term as well. Mkt cap less than $2B, amazing upside
jk, I learned nothing
Played SONO ER...and it's up 13% currently.
Did I say 13? I meant 20.
Doubt this holds through PM but holy shit.
Tread carefully once more bros. USDJPY broke under 104 again. Selling at close could have been max pain related, but there was a noticeable uptick in volume accompanied with it. SPY 350 (about where you should have bought a few days ago) is the low end of the priced-in move for Friday with 367 being the topside.
went 2.2 to 4.5 on SONO calls overnight
Good call, wish I had thought to do the same. No brainer that their sales would be up
$55 bili calls were going for $.08 at open
they’re now at $2.83
took JMIA profits, added more JD $90 6/18/21. RSI on month is < 40. Have a $9.22 cost basis on my leaps. Heavy bags
Took BA puts at the close 1DTE. Not buying the "stimulus pump" at end of day and VIX/VIXX both up after close. USDJPY inching down toward 103. Tons of call open interest going into monthly options expiration tomorrow. Liking chances of a SPY 350 test. Rode BA on the way up and now I'm hoping it's ready to go back down again. Hoping the BA mega-squeeze that I rode this morning was most of the shorts giving up so this can drop. Could also get blown out on this play but it's sized appropriately, so I'm fine with it.
What a buffoon
highest they got to was $6.73
unfortunately, i only bought 1 call on tuesday
scalped some 12/18 $70 december calls on the way up and doubled my money
what could’ve been though...
this isn’t doing too bad either
unfortunately i got out of this position to go into bili, but i reentered for $31 calls that expire next week at $0.20
BA puts paid 20% but the big gap-down I was hoping for didn't happen. In fact I could have gotten in way cheaper this morning at open and popped 200% on them. VIX getting crushed didn't help but oh well. Wish the move from after-hours would have held that would have been a nice payday.
Heads up for some of you guys that like to ride the EV train. Was going over my watch list after hours and noticed BLACKBERRY(BB)+7.5%. Very strange strength. This is a $5 stock nowadays. Took a look back at the options chain and saw bullish call buying this week. Did a little homework and BB is making software for electric vehicles. They are also a cybersecurity company now (we know how those have moved over the past 6 months). One of the names mentioned was XPENG. Possible momentum trade to hop on if you can wake up early Monday morning. Also saw they have some lawsuits against FACEBOOK in the pipes. They are also holding a massive patent portfolio that they are allegedly looking to sell. Gonna try to get into this one pre-market on Monday.
I close 75% of my MARA calls last week after it went up about 30% for a 80% gain
It went up again 45% today, calls at 260%
these are March calls
I sold Li @ $35
Starting to remind me of when I sold AMD at $35
after the last dip i'm basically completely back in the market with my long term broadly invested portfolio
in part because during that dip the income uncertainty that i sidelined much of it for went away, but also because I intend to leave this all in there for a decade or more
update from the normie side of investing
didn't forget about my roth ira on january 1st either, you shouldn't either
Got mine and the wife’s ready. Do you typically just dump it into the market right away or DCA?
i just dump it in, i dont know if its here or somewhere else that posted a punch of math about how DCA is more likely to lose you money than gain it over the long term
i'm relatively young so all this money has a long road ahead so either way it's not going to make a huge difference whichever way you go as long as you do it
That ticker has flown. Good stuff. I feel the same about JMIA-why did I sell
Ive been buying JMIA every day, I lied the other day. Couldn’t sit still.
I’m getting very, very long.Wouldn’t surprise me to see SnP up 20-30% before end of year from here.
Anyone else having issues with Merrill
Sheeeeeet Elon gonna be the richest person on the planet by the weekend at this rate.
Yeah it seems to be down still.
Not if I can mush it. I’m back on the Elon train and bought 10 shares this morning.
Definitely some FOMO having 33% still on the sidelines right now. Just another obvious data point to not try to time anything as a longer term investor.
bought some BB before Merrill crashed this morning. Still riding the EV train.
ML is the king of platform crashes
I’ve got a similar percentage out and fighting the urge every day to throw it back in
So crazy the past two weeks how I have pulled the trigger but haven't gotten fills at end of day and then the next day if I would have just hit the bid I would have had a bunch of overnight 100-300% returns on just SPY alone. Super frustrating missing like that. Today is probably the first day where I am a bit mystified where we go tomorrow. I was thinking 360 but we can also retest ATHs overnight on low volume. Was going to nab some 363 puts for tomorrow but missed again lol. Guess we'll see in short order. I am anticipating some pullback by close tomorrow.
TDA was also slow as shit at the open. Did you get BB shares or options? I was trying to get BB shares filled super cheap the past few days but it's not pulling back that much. I decided I'm just gonna get a few cheap leap calls. Earnings are next month so just be aware of that and be ready to snatch profit when comfortable.
VXN crashing the last 10 sessions and not much movement in FAAMG. Went big on AAPL calls today - it's time I think
Couple thousand shares right after open at 5.69. Looking to maybe scalp a point or two.
Finally got off my ass and moved about 50% of my savings into a vanguard account. They did the micro deposit thing but now I think I have to wait up to 7 days for them to verify banking info before I can actually buy into any funds. Plan is to go 90% VTSAX and 10% VBILX. Might throw in something like 20% ish of a growth fund. As far as I can tell those funds do not have transaction fees if you wanted to get your money back out and there are laws that say they have give you the money back within 1 day.
Guessing I should sell my slack position now lol.
sold my $31 calls with expiry 11/27 five days ago
no way i would’ve had the balls to hold it though, think it was at $29 before the news hit
congrats though, my dude
haha don’t celebrate me too much I bought slack months ago at $32. I also own a bigger position of CRM which is hedging that down.
PLTR up 169% since I bought. Wish I had bought more
Closed FSR here at $20. Can't remember if someone here was posting about it when it was still SPAQ at $9 but that was a nice 120% gain in 4 weeks.
Yup thoroughly enjoying this CIA backed ride.
Citi initiated its coverage of FSR today with a Buy rating and $26 price target. Nice bump for those of us who were patient after the merger.
I bought JWN calls yesterday afternoon. what a day. the garbage trade is in full effect
Had this on my list to buy probably around when you did but got busy and didn’t pull the trigger. Really regretting it now.
Only up 106% myself. Wish I had more of course.
So far, so good.
