That's why people are voting for trump/haley that disapprove of biden's foreign policy! Genocide will be a thing of the past if there is no more palestine. I finally get it now.
Debatable, but perhaps the war going on right now with the potential to be the most deadly is in Sudan. RSF is just going from village to village in Darfur and gunning down everyone who can't run away fast enough. Worse than that, the rainy season has started with millions of displaced people (water + no sanitation = cholera and malaria), food production is in serious jeopardy, very little outside aid is getting in, and at least 2.5 million people face death by starvation by the fall. al jazeera piece: https://aje.io/67iwtp Footage coming out from some of these regions is God fucking awful. Because it's Africa and there's shitloads of gold (and other resources) involved, there's an array of countries supporting the RSF, and likely the SAF. RSF soldiers are funded and trained by UAE with support from the Wagner group and Israeli arms manufacturers. Many of them are veterans of the similarly brutal wars in Yemen and Libya. So they're winning.
Sneaking into a refugee camp using an aid truck and killing hundreds of people is just war. Why bother considering a cease fire
a refugee camp, are you fucking stupid? Seriously? It’s a city. They call every city a refugee camp. They hid hostages in civilian houses next to a crowded market and then engaged in a firefight with machine guns and rpgs and you’re acting like Israel was somehow in the wrong. There’s no terrorist group in the world that gets as much sympathy as Hamas does
yup no Hamas were killed in the rolling gun fight that happened. Hamas doesn’t exist, it’s just all civilians that happen to keep hostages in their houses
They’ve accepted multiple. They were even on board with the Biden “leak” last week that Netanyahu changed. FWIW WaPo has the death toll of this massacre at 274. Inexcusable
Sullivan, in a separate interview Sunday on CBS News’s “Face the Nation,” called on Hamas to respond and accept the terms of an Israeli-proposed cease-fire and hostage release. The proposal includes a three-part road map to end the fighting and release the remaining hostages. It was transmitted to Hamas via Qatar, but the U.S.-designated terrorist organization has yet to formally respond, Sullivan said. “If Hamas would say yes to that deal, there would be a cease-fire in place, hostages would be coming home, more humanitarian aid would be surging in, and a better day for the Palestinian people would be- would begin to unfold,” Sullivan said.
I generally find posts like yours, complaining about content on a message board, to be the most reductive. But in that vein, thanks for contributing this morning. Appreciate you and hope you got the personal contact that you were desperate for
this is a staggering number of IDP / refugees https://apnews.com/article/un-sudan-migration-war-3cb9cf160b04fdb84aaeae210e99a406
that would be a blessing if you could keep your word on this quote please……..appreciate it for agreeing to stop linking your Israeli news in this thread, it’s about time
Not sure starting a civil war in Lebanon is the way to go right now even if the destruction of Hezbollah is objectively a good thing
The Israeli Supreme Court ruled today that the exemption for ultra-orthodox men from being drafted is unconstitutional. It will be very interesting to see how this plays out. Netanyahu’s coalition government includes two ultra-orthodox parties which adamantly opposed expansion of conscription to ultra-orthodox men. If they decide his response to the ruling isn’t satisfactory, they could leave his government coalition forcing Israel to form a new government and Netanyahu could be out.
update Following the publication of the second FRC report on 18 March 2024, which projected that a Famine would occur in the most likely scenario, a number of important developments occurred. In contrast with the assumptions made for the projection period (March – July 2024), the amount of food and non-food commodities allowed into the northern governorates increased. Additionally, the response in the nutrition, water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and health sectors was scaled up. In this context, the available evidence does not indicate that Famine is currently occurring. https://www.un.org/unispal/document/ipc-famine-third-review-report-25jun24/
