Even if Charles wins, he’s going to have to fight at least one more time to prove he can make weight before he gets a title shot, if not a 2nd fight. The fact that he’s not much of a PPV draw, and LW is such a deep division, Charles could be away from title contention for awhile because Dana is probably (and rightfully) irate right now.
If Charles wins gonna have to make a combination of 2/3 Islam/Khazmat/Dariush fight for the vacant belt but Dana will find a way to slip Conor in
I think the line right now is 1) Conor 2) Islam/Dariush 3) Chandler. If Charles loses to Justin, I think he rematches Chandler as a #1 contender. Charles needs a win tomorrow to stay at the front of the line imo
I was looking at the betting lines for today and there's a lot of close lines. Chandler is the biggest favorite on the card at -400
chandler confuses me. he is this close to being the champ and undefeated in the ufc but also has lost two in a row. tony is obviously on a slide but you never know with him
It should be interesting. I don't think Ive seen Chandler fight where he doesn't just go straight forward. I wasn't encouraged by Tonys interviews though. He said he just brought back and old college wrestling coach and that was really the biggest change he made for the camp. Just doesn't sound like he's interested in evolving or working with anyone new to improve, and I think Chandler is better/works with better fighters.

Had my son's 6th birthday party this afternoon, so no crazy long write ups. But I like: A LOT: Gaethje (full disclosure he's my favorite fighter, so be cautious. I won't be, but you should be) Fiahlo ITD Rodrigues ITD Khaos ITD Royval by sub Dogs: Newson (a sprinkle) Carmelossi (DK core play) Gatto ITD (I'll have her on a lot of lineups) Rogerio (don't love it) Hot Chocolate Ferguson is a weird one. He either wins a grueling decision or gets knocked out early (he's never been knocked out). Should be a great night. Don't have enough of a feel on the other fights. Rose seems weird right now, but Esparza's not good enough. Chiasson fight should be boring. The heavyweights (Rogerio/Ivanov) should probably lay on each other for 3 rounds.
i really enjoy watching gaethje fight but man i am rooting for charles big time. such a fan of him, his style, his story. great champion
