How it started "Adesanya will inevitably surpass Anderson Silva as the greatest middleweight of all time!" How it ended "Adesanya lost to a guy who threw 3 total strikes. A jab, a straight, and a front kick"
That fight felt rigged af. Izzy didn’t even look like he was trying. Spoiler shoutout ohhaithur for putting me onto that boost and tipping me to the fix
I’ve always graded overall greatness of 185ers on a curve because it’s generally been the weakest division in MMA. Adesanya thinking he’d have anything for Jones, Hill, or Prochazka at 205 is hilarious. The Jones fight would’ve made a shit ton of money, but that fight would be finished whenever Jon decided it’d be over.
The fuckin shoulder roll defense worked for Sean vs Izzy. Didn’t see that coming. I thought at some point izzy would time a hook after throwing jab and it would be lights out. but he generally seemed like he didn’t prepare for this fight… at all. He wanted to figure it out in the ring. Which is dumb because Sean is definitely a guy you can plan for… he’s basically got the same fight every time he’s in the octagon
Strickland seems like one of the most annoying people in all of MMA, but I’ll be damned if he didn’t solve the puzzle for beating Izzy. It was like a weaker version of Pereira’s approach.
It certainly can be. Now think about this. Wonderboy flew to his fight, weighed in, had everything squared away. His opponent did not make weight. He refused to fight when the other guy didn't make weight so the UFC literally paid him nothing. So is he still on the hook for flights and medical for a fight he literally made $0 from?
tbh I thought of that as soon as I hit post. You're right. Keep the stars happy and starve the rest of the roster.
Yes, but the line has moved properly. The Valentina line is the interesting one. 61% of the money is on her and her odds have come down, books wanting more money on her.
I just rewatched the Valentina Alexa fight and VS was in complete control until she threw some spinnin shit. I kind of remember AG being more competitive in that fight.
I don’t think I learned proper betting ITT. How is the line moving properly if 64% of the money is on Holland and his odds went from +100 to +125? seems to me like it should have dipped. The Valentina line movement makes more sense using that logic. Forgive my ignorance if I am way off.
There is a misconception that sports book want equal action on both sides so they can profit on the juice. The books want more money on the wrong side because they make more money. So if respected bettors/people who win at their book are betting on a certain side, that will move the line more than the pure amount of money on a side. If you want to be a market bettor, look at the splits and look for situations where handle % is 20% greater or more than bet% because that quickly tells you where the big money is coming in. although the total amount of handle BetMGM had on Friday afternoon pales in comparison to what they will have tomorrow so take it with a grain of salt.
Also good for Strickland. Idk why this podcast clip was on my feed but fuck Andrew Tate and lol at his bots in the comments.
