Apparently Illia told Rogan he’s not fighting again until he gets the Islam fight according to a clip I saw on TikTok. It’s kinda crazy to think him and Aspinall are two of the better things going in MMA right now, and they’re on the shelf for some unknown amount of time over bullshit reasons. As always fuck Dana
Not jumping on Aspinall's momentum is just insanity. Who cares if it's not Jon Jones with his next fight after Blades last July, let him knock another dude out in a UK stadium and continue to build that momentum more. We all know how meticulous Jones is to accepting and then training for a fight. And now they're in this weird purgatory where you kind of only care if Aspinall fights Jones because it's dragged on for so long, but they also have had Aspinall on the shelf that could cause some once or twice a year casual to not really care.
Unless he just needs the money, why would Aspinall take another fight? He deserves Jon Jones, but JJ and the UFC suck, and won't do it bc they know JJ will lose.
Ilia can't make 145 and he's refusing to fight anyone but Islam. Tom is only going to fight Jon Jones, and tbh, if I'm Jon, I don't want that shit unless it's record breaking money.
Jon knows it's his last fight and he wants generational wealth before he leaves after 15+ years of doing this.
Feels like I've seen that fight 17 different times. When the UFC takes a week off, I get hyped about the next card. Especially a non Apex card. Even if Garry and Lionheart's boring asses are at the top.
Was hoping old ass Mariusz would whoop Eddie's ass Wonder what's next for Eddie. Thor whooped his ass in boxing, lost to Brian Shaw in arm wrestling, beat up 2 dwarves, and now this. At least he finally won something respectable even if it was against a 50 year old.
how prates did not finish him idk also, why did prates not fight that way the whole time? i never understand when fighters go away from what got them there in the first place
Dude was gassed af. He was barely standing at the end just from exhaustion. I'll preface this with the fact that I didn't watch it super intently but I credit that to IMG's striking defense. He was able to get off a quick combo and rotate out away from the pressure all night. With that said, Prates footwork was shockingly poor. He didn't cut off the cage at all and just chased IMG around all night allowing him to rotate out.
Laura Sanko said it exactly early, you coast in early rounds to get to the later ones and suddenly you are down 3-0 and need the desperation at the end
