Pretty meh episode, considering the host.
that cold open was cringe-worthy bad.
Lasted way too long to be so unfunny. And the musical guests have been awful this season
Don't know about you guys, but I watched the entire first song by Miley Cyrus wondering if the stickum was going to fail and her titties were going to be flopping around on tv
Mulaney is the best.
Also, I didn't realize the lead singer for Greta van Fleet is like 5'5"
What he lacks in height he makes up in stage presence.
Greta Van Fleet is a dude? Heard the name but never seen them before.
Greta Van Fleet is the name of the band. The guys in the band named it after a woman from their hometown (with her blessing) named Gretna van Fleet
Can we have a Weekend Update ranking?
I really like Che and Jost's chemistry.
I'd have to go
Keeping in mind I wasn't alive for Curtin, Chevy, Ackroyd, Murray etc.
McAvoy killing the Charmin skit.
Very passable Philly accent
That was the first skit that was really good.
Cecily’s character in the Narnia skit very Wiig-esque.
Halsey is next-level hot.
This is already the best episode of the season.
Woke up wy to early this morning and watched on the DVR. I was rolling. Really good stuff.
Mulaney for permanent host
How about Che with the straight up Norm Macdonald "prison" joke.
"What he missed most was murdering" killed me...
While the takedishers at AV club and the like really go overboard with trying to find things wrong (esp their neverending quest for the news segments to be more anti-trump, i guess) I agree w them that this season has been kind of underwhelming. That said, this episode is as strong as I have seen in the last 5 years or so. I wonder if Mulaney took a strong (for a guest) hand in the writing, which has been (imo) the lackluster part of the season thusfar.
I read that a couple of the sketches (Toilet ejector, Bodega bathroom) were ones he had written and pitched years ago and couldn't get on for whatever reason
Same with several of the sketches from last time he hosted. It’s just the nature of who he is and what he does. He gets to put his fingerprint on the show a little more than most.
At least he died peacefully in bed reading scripture.
Oh that's nice.
Only thing was, his pants were around his ankles and there was shit everywhere.
My only disappointment was that we didn’t get Stephon with Hader on the show.
Best cold open of the season.
WNBA Gold Diggers is amazing
Feel like they’re definitely going to get hammered for that.
As always, lots of good jokes on Weekend Update. Pete Davidson killed it.
Haha...this is basically like Gronk as an announcer.
That fucking Momo skit
Mulaney dancing at the wedding was one of my favorites in a long time. I’ve heard Ego Nwodim on some podcasts and she can be pretty good. Hoping she keeps getting chances. But Mulaney was excellent in the sketch.
Colin's Star Wars joke @1:30 was perfection
I wonder if they purposely keep jokes from each other because their reactions to the other's jokes are always really entertaining.
Slow start but reunion and Rectix skits were solid.
That Farley song is a highlight. Funny, personal...really awesome.
its a butt plug
no its a prescription
as a fat man in America I too think of Belushi, Candy, and Farley as heroes
the end of season's joke swaps:
and to explain why they were all wet, a good weekend update guest appearance
Christmas episode with Eddie Murphy
Thought Baldwin wasn't going to play Trump on the show any more
Town hall was good. Second sketch not so much.
Billie is great.
Weekend update and the pregame pep talk sketch have been good.
Is her guitar player hooking up with her or just stealing leftover fabric swatches to make his stage outfits match hers?
Isn’t that her brother?
