I heard that Tsunami awhile back, it's not bad. King Fowley of Deceased released it on CD under his semi bootleg label Old Metal Records. He's actually put a lot of old shit out on cd for the first time and has been doing so since the 90's. That old fuck would likely out butt rock us all.

  2. sounds like it.

    Yeah, that 'bum rules

Did Reb Beach play with Winger? I know he splits time between Winger and Whitesnake and Whitesnake is on the road now too.

    Such an unfairly maligned band.

Any of you guys give the new Tesla album a listen yet? It's real good. It amazes me Jeff Keith is able to maintain that voice.

Yeah Reb was there last night. I am pretty sure that Winger doesn't tour without him. When Reb is playing with Whitesnake Kip Winger does a few solo shows.

I thought both bands were great. First time I have seen Firehouse and their lead singer was quite good.

I definitely need to check that album out.

  10. This is also gonna be the thread where we discuss how wildly unspectacular new blues rock is.

Buddy tried to get me to go to the Blue Stones tomorrow. :marcuscamby:

Norwegian bluesy band The Devil and the Almighty Blues (see it's right in the band name) is pretty cool if you ask me, which you may or may not have done

also I did a quick google search to be sure of where they're from and found out the new album comes out next week :badger:

  13. Well of course it's good if it's Norwegian

  17. Crue biopic on netflix is not excellent, but is some good fun.

Shout at the Devil is in the canon of hard rock but aside from that, they have all the fame that Ratt actually deserves

Never was a big Slaughter fan. Just can't get into Mark's voice.

Guess I side with Pant Suit Vinnie Vincent on this one.

  35. Spent the day checkin out some of that new classic rock and there's some decent stuff out there beyond greta van fleet that i hadn't heard of. Also, the post-AC/DC movement is alive and well in Europe, with bands like Dynamite, Sticky Boys and 77 basically just parlaying AC/DC in a shameless fashion but no one should be ashamed. I feel grateful.

Now while it's all neat and good and I spent an entire day on it, GVF and all the other new hard rock bands just serve to highlight how fucking good 80s hard rock was. Fuck does Ratt sound good this AM. It's like playing ps2 for a day or two before switching back to ps4 and rediscovering how incredible everything looks.

And there's my problem with GVH fans. Too many of the ones I know roll their eyes at all the butt bands that absolutely destroy GVH. And all of them do.

GVF is essentially what Kingdom Come wanted to be.

I didn't like Kingdom Come in their day but I like GVF. Perhaps absence (of talent in music) making the heart grow fonder? :idk:

I have no problem with Autograph. I sing along to Blondes In Black Cars, Night Teen and Non Stop, and Turn Up The Radio when they're on.

I just have the idea that if GVF truly takes off and makes rock/hard rock/metal somewhat economically viable again maybe we'll see the long, long, long overdue turnaround in popular music this world needs. I doubt it happens but I'm happy they're getting buzz.

  41. but this new shit will do just fine imo

still strikes me how many new bands try but struggle to pull of a tasty bridge while seemingly every hard rock band in the 80s could pull some delightful 25 second bridge out of their ass on a whim

I know where you are coming from.

He'a great source but he hasn't been a "regular guy" rock fan in a long time and it shows. Unfortunately he is literally the only loud voice advocating for rock music these days.
