Several road closures today from some high winds that came through around 12:30am, but didn’t really get much hail or circulation like we anticipated. Winds got up to about 60mph at one point.
Twitter used to be, still sort of is. Otherwise, local TV mets and local nws Twitter. The weather channel has good severe weather coverage
Make sure you have wireless emergency alerts enabled on your phone. I can't speak to other weather apps like weather bug, weather channel, etc. (I don't use them), but they'll often give you NWS warning notifications based upon your location
Was just looking out the office window and it was nice and sunny, somewhat clear. Then I read this...
Looks like there’s some clearing in central Indiana and starting to clear to western Ohio. Should give the atmosphere plenty of time to heat.
I'm not sure how much further north the best surface based instability will develop. Cloud cover is persistent plus ongoing storms. Might keep the best tornado threat in southern Indiana and southern Ohio into KY
It was sunny as hell north of I-70 earlier which had me worried as hell. Thunderstorms just came though about 30 minutes ago which hopefully helped ease the instability up here, they’ve dialed back our severe weather forecasts for the evening :fingerscrossed:
Stay safe Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky bros. ramszoolander almost all of Fayette County has no power and a lot of Fayette County has no cell phone service (more than usual, lol).
