thanks man...if its good tv ill give it a shot...lord knows its produced by more than capable people...breaking bad was a little slow to develop but it only got better with time and room to grow
Most of the people who watch it are either The Wire fanatics/loyalists or New orleans residents or both, and everyone likes it. It can get slow at times, but watching the finale last night was worth it for me.
To be honest, you'll probably find the series slow with a few glimpses of brilliance thrown in until the last episode where the whole damn thing is near perfect. John Goodman's character is worth watching the show by itself.
well the wire was like that to an extent where it played out like a novel and tied together perfectly at the end
This is what i try to stress to new viewers. I'm weird but my favorite season of the wire was 2. However, the first season was sort of leaving me unfulfilled until the very end. The last episode of season 1 of the wire (and now treme) really set the hook on me. Can't wait 'til season 2 but losing goodman is a pretty big hit to me because I think he's the greatest.
just watched S1 was pretty boring in the first 2 episodes but for some reason i wanted to watch what happened to the characters and got pretty hooked by the end of ep 3 start of ep 4 the finale mind fucked me for a minute as well, when the chef ended up at her parent's house and there was a hurricane coming (before i saw it said katrina) really hope she comes back though, as someone who loves cooking it's nice to see a different side of the business as LKRFN said, it was obvious once Goodman gave his wife that extra kiss and his daughter a compliment what was gonna happen always been a so-so fan of jazz, i appreciate the musicianship but usually cant get into the music but it is absolutely fantastic in this show (probably bc they use real artists) am i the only extremely hard for Annie? she looks like she might have some nice tittays
Bumping this thread with the season being 20 days away now. Season 2 will have 11 episodes, one more than season 1 did. Really interested to see what happens with the second season ala The Wire - will we get a whole bunch of new characters, while still dealing with last season's as well (basically what each season of The Wire did, though most notable from 1 to 2)? Or will it be that of a :airquotes: normal :airquotes: TV show where it sticks with who we know and presents a new batch of problems? I do know that David Morse (white cop who was involved more and more at the end of season 1) was signed on as a series regular. Would love to deal more with the crime aspect of things, especially with him since he's a solid actor. Sunday nights are about to get insanely good all the way through June with this, Shitty AMC Show, Game of Thrones, and the NBA playoffs every week. DVR will be getting some extra work in for me
Good episode. I still have arguments with people about the rebuilding of New Orleans just like Delmond did with those New York jazz guys. Great to see Ziggy from The Wire playing what else but a stoner. Great music as always. lol at Ladonna saying she's not sure about that "new quarterback" (Brees) but that they know Reggie Bush can bring it.
Thought the same thing. We were right back in the mix watching the stories unfold. I think I'm going to enjoy the crime aspect most this season. I think that has a lot of potential because I really like the guy playing the police officer. Though he was a p big douche to the kid, but I understand why he did it. I think this episode (to me) felt most like any episode of The Wire ever. Just dropping us in going from story to story, kind of introducing everything but not telling us anything at all really. Good episode.
Hate Davis as a character and as a storyline. This show is excellent but would be even better without him
another great ep fucking rape man, jesus also really like Bunk and the band story, mainly bc it keeps live music going which is the strong point of this show imhbv still not fond of that new dude, the demolition latino or whatever he is
HBO: THIS JUST IN: Treme has been renewed for a third season. #treme #nola @nolanews @watchingtreme @Musicoftreme
excellent. show is such a slow burn that I don't find myself really wanting to discuss a ton. I like just letting it unfold. The only thing I haven't liked about the new season have been the little moments where they seem to be highlighting that the characters who don't know each other are intersecting. The Chief and Janette ending up by each other felt organic and wasn't unnecessary, but there have been some times when characters just kinda randomly walk past each other and we're made to see it in a kinda showy way, like when the new demolition guy passed the daughter as she was walking in to city hall. I like it better when there are just these concurrent stories going on and we aren't made to think at all about there being some grand, unifying story other than these are people living and recovering in post-Katrina New Orleans.
another solid episode, really hate the post-rape scenes not in a bad way, in a good way like how the fuck would someone ever deal with that? and it's just tough to watch bc of how realistic it's handled (or i'm guessing how realistic it would be)
as many have said in other shows, it is way harder to get a season 3 than season 4 so i wouldnt doubt it yet
This season has been so much better than last year. I think this story line with Davis could get stupid. He'll never make it with recording those trannys and his alcoholic aunt.
solid once again What i like about it is it is kind of mindless, i mean it's very serious but at the same time there doesnt have to be some overriding story arch. It's just about people and their lives. Just different from most stuff.
Been out of the country the past 2 weekends so I'm not reading anything in this thread till I get home this Sunday. I'll get to watch 3 episodes on the same day
