This won’t help your anxiety at all, but most of our interceptor capabilities are only about 60-70% effective against conventional ICBMs, almost a non factor for hypersonic, but I also don’t know that they’ve got any hypersonics set up for nuclear capability. Even the famous iron dome is really only 85-90% effective and again, there hasn’t been much shown to be able to intercept or stop hypersonics. The best defense would be some sort of cyber attack to take down their targeting and ability to even launch, but that would be preemptive and wildly presumptuous in most cases.

 

Don't forget decoys, cheap to overwhelm a defensive system with them
