I doubt a ratings drop like that is singular to the XFL, specifically in the first season of a new league. Curiosity is the main driver for the high ratings during the first week which obviously dissipates after the first couple of weekends. Team placement will be the biggest driver of ratings. They need to ignore the giant markets and gear toward more cities like St. Louis, Seattle, etc.
Yeah, totally agree. I get the “big market” thing, but the smarter move seems to be placing teams in mid-sized markets starved for football.
