First episode had my wife and I hooked. Spoiler We both felt something was up but had zero clue where this show was actually headed. Thinking it could be really good or end up being weird in a bad way.
This show had some promise but we’re 4 episodes in and we know: -they’re living in a cave -there’s life outside -the president isn’t in charge -uncle Billy is a killer and is now dead Guessing the “big reveal” is that Xavier’s wife is alive and Sinatra created the outside world event also, the Sinatra lady is absolutely awful bad guy character
I'll prob stick this out for the full season because there's not much else on. But this feels like something that would be on network TV 8-10 years ago. Kind of sanitized and sterile
Yes, I am entertained but feel this is going to go off the rails quickly. A lot of Snowpiercer vibes.
This show is just weird to watch. It has that camera filter/cleanness that makes it have the network TV aesthetic. But also swear words and nudity. It conflicts in my head. Plus the dialogue and tropes are very base level. I'll stick with it, but something just feels off.
Yes it kind of reminds me of the 100 in a way or the 4400. I also get the sense that like Snowpiercer we are going to see lots of faction shifting throughout the show where everyone is just focused on their own self interests that it gets annoying and hard to root for anyone. The thing is as dumb as it is I am entertained.
Im trying to remember the last network drama Ive watched. Im having a hard time thinking of one. The Passage, I suppose. But only because I was a big fan of the book. It only lasted a year. This show feels like it's from 2015. Not necessarily in bad way, just how it's stylized.
was wrong about this thankfully good twist with the blue code still a decent show. Agree that it feels like a network show that they wanted to be able to say “fuck” in but they haven’t made this into a joke yet between jury duty and this, I like marsden. Hopefully he’s not an awful person in real life
5 minutes after watching the latest episode a transformer blew in our neighborhood and the power went out. Loud bang followed by darkness. My wife is completely freaked out. Power came back on after a minute. She’s still not right.
I think the thing I like about it is that we have seen disaster/post apocalyptical movies but not a lot of shows that retrace the events over many episodes that allow for character development and suspense. Movies like this seem to just get by based on kinetic energy of averting one disaster after another. I am still skeptical that they can pull this off, and also getting the feeling this will be a multi-season show. I think a one season show would be better. It is really starting to feel like this could be similar to Snowpiercer where people keep switching sides to suit their self interests in the moment, and those can get pretty tiring after awhile without any real anchors and clear delineation between being inherently bad and good. Sinatra's verbalized introspection of maybe being the bad guy is getting a little tiring too.
yes, here we go. This one will be hard to keep on the rails, because the most compelling stories have already been written...realizing they were in an underground bunker, wife separation and potential survival (blue button), President's death and his role in it.
Lol bad should’ve just done an 8 episode one off story. how is he going to fly a fucking plane? What happened to the cars and chaos outside the cave? What if the runway in Atlanta isn’t clear? There’s no satellites. What is he entering into the computer? Lmao
They should have done this as a 10 episode limited series and ended it with him finding or not finding his wife. Season 2 is going to be absolutely garbage. Spoiler But I’m still going to watch it
I think they explained he was a trained pilot that wasn't allowed to fly commercial because of a vision issue. I guess we find out next season!! I think those were coordinates that the president has plotted in the book.
Really enjoyed this season. I will echo the thoughts of some in this thread that felt they gave away most of the interesting plot points and season 2 could go off the rails quickly. Episode 7 was amazing.
I meant more how is he going to navigate with GPS coordinates when the satellites don’t exist and who is going to clear the runways
