Let’s eat pizza ITT The Italian Stallion from Porta in Asbury Park this weekend- San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella, gorgonzola, Italian sausage, long hots
Idk what the Italians do, but I still remember eating lunch in Verona and being surprised that pizza was a lunch item expected for one. I ordered it, and probably a good 10-inch margherita was brought out to our table. Are the entire thing without feeling even remotely heavy, but it was absolutely delicious.
Now that i live in Chicago there are about 20 great pizza places within a 5 mile radius of me feels good
That’s absolutely one of the key tenets of Italian cooking, but I think it had more to do with the way they constructed the crust. It was full-bodied, but I think there’s some way to how they make the dough that keeps it very light without losing much strength.
once in a while i switch it up with a deep dish but I’m usually a thin crust sausage and green peppers kinda guy
1. Go to PJ's 2. Get thin crust 3. Shake the packet of seasonings on it 4. Squeeze the pepperoncini over the top 5. ??????? 6. Spoiler
I worked with the guy in the black shirt for 2 years. Definitely the type of guy to ask Papa John for a drunk pic.
One piece of Chicago deep dish weighs like 5 lbs. I grabbed the to go box and thought it had bricks in it
In construction, it really is like a cake. I think that’s why I like getting it so much (like Truman said, it’s more about the novelty). I also like the distinctive sweetness of the open-air tomatoes when it’s done correctly.
Favorite place in Raleigh is called Trophy- they’re also a top tier brewery. They get a little weird with some of their pizza but it’s amazing. My go to is pesto base, chicken, tomato, and a honey drizzle
Almost everyone I’ve met from Chicago says deep dish sucks and prefers thin crust Deep dish is for tourists
If I lived on the south side I’d order from the Fox’s in Beverly every week. You gotta try rosangelas in evergreen if you haven’t done so already.
Davenport’s. Family used to go there probably once a week, have a lot of fond memories of it. Although I haven’t been in a few years, I hope it hasn’t gone to shit, would break my heart.
