I want it real bad.
Team Sword and Sobble
explain to me like im 5, what's the difference between the 2 games? i played the shit out of the first pokemon on gameboy, but that's it.
Not much. There will be a few pokemon only available in each. One time one version had a city and one had a forest or something. But yeah, not really much. We should know all actual differences by when it launches.
version exclusives and different cover legendaries.
The starter evolutions have leaked and Sobble's final stage is...disappointing.
Fire starter's final evolution looks probably the best, overall pretty underwhelming, not as bad as Gen 5's starers, probably on par with Gen 2.
I like the fire one the least. Highly considering not using one. Mono types suck.
Jim is the greatest
Only a few days away
9.3 on IGN.
Haven't played a Pokemon since Red & Blue, and I have no clue which to get!
I'm getting Sword
Thanks for listening to my Ted Talk
If everyone is getting sword, then I’m going to get Shield.
Word on the street prerecordedlive and @Wu(if he's still alive) are getting Shield
I think I'd prefer Sword, but somebody has to be contrarian.
I hate how excited I am for this. Worked out that tomorrow is a half day in the office
Reviews are great. Will probably buy after I finish Luigi 3
Hatched a shiny 5IV Jolly Dreepy (first stage of Dragapult) yesterday.
First competitive team is almost ready to go.
I also have three Lucarios (Adamant, Jolly, and Modest) ready to sub in as desired.
i now have 7 badges
You do singles or doubles?
Also look into getting a Dracovish, that thing is hilariously busted right now. Choice Band Fishious Rend is like a base 570 power move in rain.
Singles only. Never got the appeal of doubles. I’ll take a look at Dracovish; Life Orb Drednaw with Swift Swim was my preference for this team because he can be a bulky tank that can get rid of problem pokes for that team that Corviknight can’t handle.
Another option I was considering is unaware Quagsire, which is an old staple of mine.
Putting the final pieces of my team together and hatched a shiny rookidee with the hidden ability included. Gotta delay breeding the last 2 mons to hyper train him up now.
Team looks like:
Rotom - W
2 shinies on the squad.
You’re using Mirror Armor over Pressure? I did as well
Yep, team is basically done now, just need to grind out enough xp candies to boost that shiny birb to 100 to hyper train it and I'll be done with it.
I'll probably make a trick room team a few weeks/months down the road.
Made it to Master Ball tier on ranked, god fucking damn trick room teams are everywhere.
Had to make a few adjustments to the team, ended up benching the shiny Dragapult
About to dive back in today/this week. Best way to get shiny’s are to get catch streaks going right?
its a tossup between that and hatching eggs with a foreign ditto. foreign ditto with shiny charm = 1/512 chance to hatch a shiny.
Can I make a confession?
Never really got the deal with shinies; get much more excited about a 5-6 perfect IV mon.
why not both?
Corviknight is honestly so fucking good, its base stats doesn't do it justice, I've legit 1v4'd a couple of teams before just because they didn't have electric/fire coverage and they ignored Corviknight for a bit while I spammed bulk up.
Teams that don't have a special attacker like rotom basically almost automatically loses to him if I save the Dynamax after 2-3 bulk-ups.
You mentioned taking out Dragapult from your team, but he’s worth it even just as a check to Corviknight.
Only the special variants, one of the teams I 1v4'd had Dragapult on it, after 4 bulk ups, I was only taking like 15 damage per hit from Dragon Darts. And teams that run Dragapult usually lead with it and most of my leads can deal with Dragapult just fine.
Unless I'm dealing with trick room teams, I usually lead Whimsicott with either Dracovish or Excadrill, and both of those after tailwind outspeed Dragapult and can either 1 shot it or deal enough damage where a Whimsicott Moonblast kills it by turn 2. Corviknight when I bring it is always in the back as a sweeper.
This is what the final version of my team looks like (for now), got to masterball tier in about 55 games with about a 65% win rate
Just got my first badge.
still not sure what I’m doing
Best part of the entire game:
Do they evolve on a set schedule or is it random?
There’s specific levels to hit for the vast majority of them.
Some are done by evolution stones whenever you’re ready to give it to them.
Some evolve by trading them.
Others I have no fucking clue because Pokemon is pretty deep now.
Off, the top of my head, these are a few ways a mon can evolve:
- leveling up
- evolution stone
- leveling up with high friendship
- leveling up with high friendship at a particular time of day
- trading while holding an item
- leveling up with the console upside down
- leveling up with a rainy overworld
this is the most Japanese shit ever my god
leveling with high friendship while knowing a specific move.
by getting three crits in one battle
Do delibird raids, they're here until December 26th, a 5 star raid gives 6x extra large and 6x large exp candies at once, basically 4-5 times normal raids.
Probably more info on Pokemon Home and maybe Pokemon Sleep.
Ok wow didn't expect anything as big as this, DLC, 200+ mons. I prefer this way more than remake or Sword 2/Shield 2 line Sun & Moon
Honestly, I did expect some kind of DLC that would lead to more pokes. No way the fan base would be satisfied with such a limited Dex.
Also, those den battles with the SS starters means we’ll finally have access to their hidden abilities.
