I think that's a big, common complaint. You used to want to raid and grind constantly to try for that gally or something. Now hell I play maybe an hour a day a few times a week and I probably have most exotics. I'm sure I'm missing a couple raid items but nothing big.
Not only that but exotic weapons went from several crazy must own weapons to a bunch of niche/situational weapons
I think those are all valid complaints. For me it was real life stuff and the lack of innovation in the weapons. Like Zombie said, just keep using those old weapons because none of the new ones do anything for me. Weapons are relatively easy to get and aren't interesting enough to try to get anyway. I think the way it was with vanilla is too far in the other direction as far as drop rates, people legit went the entire year without some stuff dropping, but correcting it to drop in the first couple of weeks kills the long term.
80% the simplicity of the raid. 20% the rehash of vanilla content once again used disguised as new content. I've had quite enough of that aspect of the hefty price tag attached to the dlc in destiny. I'll bow out of D2 early if the first dlc follows the same model. I think there are a load of ways that bungie can keep content fresh without lazy 30 or 40 dollar expansions. I would like to see them add stand alone boss battles outside of raid that yield one or two drops per clear. Some of the most fun I had on FF14 was getting a group of friends together, having a few beer and farming primal until everyone pulled their gear. Also I think that making sparrows look cooler and more unique but also rare drops would add an element to destiny that people would enjoy.
Fuck the iron banner matchmaking. I know I'm not that good at crucible but I get matched up with the other losers 8/10 times it seems.
Stand alone boss battles would be awesome. Or make VoG and Croata compatable with the new light levels.
Miraculously after I posted that I went on a five match winning streak and had a k/d ratio over 1. Maybe I just needed to come bitch on here earlier. Or destiny finally figured out I needed to play with shittier players.
When I'm doing Iron Banner I've had multiple matches where I'm in the top 1-2 for the winning team. And I'm fucking horrible at crucible.
I think we should do a night of VoG and Croata. With either blue armor or our highest levels and see how fast we can do them.
i wouldn't say i'm turned off from it. i still play every day. i'm not much of an LFG fan. i can't seem to get good groups on there. but, it's still fun for me grinding up. it's taken me a while still. Iron banner definitely helped though. I think maybe not getting all my factions to the edge, then using heavy to rank them up slowed the progression for me quite a bit. If they took the approach of XP for leveling instead of light levels, then maybe they'd have more people playing. Maybe they'll do that for destiny II.
i'm not very good at crucible either, and it tends to put me in matches with people like rust and ogre. 9 of 10 matches i'm near the bottom. but one match. that beautiful one match, I can be top scorer from luck.
Another turn-off for me was the way they handled Festival of the Lost. I know it was almost the same event as last year, but the fact that many of the cosmetic items (ghosts, sparrow, even the masks) were not earnable. Yeah, we had a possibility to get them through the 3 packages we opened for completing that quest through all 3 characters, but it felt like there should have been more opportunities to get that shit without having to pay for it and hoping for those things. (In before Zombie explains that is how MMO's work with cosmetics)
MMO cosmetics are generally sold individually, so it wasnt like that at all. I would have loved to pay $5 for the ghost ghost and been done with it.
I can proudly say that I have not spent a dime on this game other than the expansions. No packages, no cosmetics, no silly dances. As much time as I have spent with this game (which I would dare say is more than any 2 other posters ITT combined), I'd say I've stood my ground on this. Fuck microtransactions.
Honestly, like i've been saying from the beginning, destiny would work best with a pay2play model but that's just not something that will happen for a fps unfortunately. So we are left with microtransactions to fund content drops between expansions, which is just not a good idea because so many are so against them.
Looks like skyrim is going to consume me again. superfly0212 since you're like the only one ever on just invite me to a party if you want to destiny.
The other night for a nightfall was me, achiever and black nole and that was the first time I've seen more than two of us on in weeks.
I meant online and on destiny. I do see some of y'all online playing other games but figure y'all don't have a desire to run strikes or bounties for an hour or two most of the time. That seems to be all I can do since we never have enough to raid. Me and superfly0212 did attempt to 2 man Croata but got stuck trying to remember how to do the bridge part and then he had to cook dinner like a good housewife
He was trying that but wasn't getting over fast enough to kill the gatekeeper. We only tried like twice though.
I'm going to log into Skyrim when I get home but if anyone wants to do some strikes or try some raid stuff (even old raid stuff) just invite me to a party.
Also im pretty sure if you do the crouch behind that one thing by the bridge method he will either ignore you or just walk off. But hunters with bones and titans should be able to grab the sword and just jump right across.
FUCK YOU ODIN. YOU'RE A PIECE OF SHIT FOR PLAYING OTHER GAMES AND TALKING ABOUT THEM IN THIS THREAD. I HOPE DEEBO RAPES YOU. Spoiler so you're really not going to get pokemon?
I went a couple days with me and superfly0212 playing for about an hour or so each day. Haven't seen him on recently.
