4 – If all PL games in 2010/11 had finished at half-time, Blackburn Rovers would have finished fourth in the table. Peaking. 20% - Just one in 5 of Xavi's passes in La Liga went forward as compared to 31% of Carrick's passes in the PL 11 – Manchester United’s substitutes scored more goals than those of any other team in the 2010/11 Premier League season 1 – Blackpool’s Charlie Adam was the only opposition player to score in the first half at Old Trafford in the league in 2010/11 18 - Robin van Persie equalled the record of 18 goals scored in a Prem Lge season from Jan 1 onwards held by Henry & Cristiano Tevez has the most goals in the last two seasons.
Of the PL top 30 goalscorers, Ryan #Giggs is the only to have scored more away from home (56) than at Old Trafford (49).
5 – Wigan Athletic netted the most goals from direct free kicks in the 2010/11 Premier League season. 7 - Thierry Henry has converted 7 of his last 9 shots on target in MLS. 13.8 - @ChicagoFire has averaged more shots per game than any other team in MLS
101:48 - Dirk Kuyt's penalty against Arsenal at the Emirates was the latest goal in the 2010-11 Premier League. 00:32 - Maxi Rodriguez's goal against Fulham after 32 seconds was the fastest in the 2010-11 Premier League.
I find this fact absolutely hysterical. Barca fans bitched and bitched and bitched about Ibra being offside, then replaced him with a player who was caught offside more than any other player in the entire league. Spoiler Oh, and Ibra was just as productive (16 goals/7 assists in 29 games, vs. Villa's 18 goals/7 assists in 34 games).
There were 90 away wins in the Premier League 2010/11, the fewest across the top five European leagues
11 – Ben Foster conceded more goals from outside of the box than any other goalkeeper in the 2010/11 Premier League season
Villa would mistime runs. Ibra and his hideous schnoz would just post up offsides for the fuck of it.
top 5 players: average distance of goal scored. Charles N’Zogbia Wigan 9 goals 20.8 yards Didier Drogba Chelsea 10 17.9 Nani Man Utd 9 17.3 Hugo Rodallega Wigan 8 16.9 Wayne Rooney Man Utd 8 16.1
Wasn't meant to be a "Xavi isn't good" kinda post, but just thought it was funny that chart was posted after the 20% of his passes actually go forward stat was in the OP. I'm curious what the % would be for the others on that list.
I feel like I watch a lot of Barca, and I'm not sure I buy that 4 out of every 5 passes that Xavi makes goes backwards. Shit, half of the time he has the ball he's at our own 30 yard line or so.
You must be watching in 3D because I've never seen such a thing on the pitch. All joking aside, that number does seem high but it includes lateral passes as well, not just backwards ones. I have no idea where the OP got those stats from either.

Did not know that either. Says on his wiki page that his dad was working in Houston in oil when he was born. Would have loved to have him on the national team.
