Pickleball is outdoor ping pong but gets many elderly people doing something which is good I hope I don’t ever play it until I make it to 65 if I do
Being in a region with 4 seasons is great My ceiling fan decides to turn into the worst thing imaginable when seasons change(I kinda need circulating air) Tonight is 1, bless up
Pickleball is fun to play so I get it but what I don’t get is people watching pickleball. It’s horrific as a spectator sport and I swear the only people watching it are doing so feeling like they have to support it. I also can’t tell the difference between a pro pickleball player and a regular neighborhood pickleball player.
this post makes no sense. The few pro pickleball rallies I’ve seen on social media are ridiculous full swinging out of the air rallies back and forth. None of that stuff occurs at your local rec center
Maybe I just have friends who are not pros but are decent athletes who play. They post stuff on social that looks highly competitive. I’m not referring to 60 + year olds… just general younger people playing for fun who have some sort of high school tennis background or so.
By the way I mean this as a spectator product. Not me saying pro pickleball players aren’t good at what they do.
Wilshire, there's an approval process for guests for members. Ethan has played there multiple times but I didn't get approved.
I edited it, it was Wilshire not LACC. Wasn't overly logged into my memory since I never got to play there. Probably age and female being a red flag.

Padel > Pickleball. It’s the fastest growing sport in the world apparently but for some reason hasn’t caught on much in the US and Canada.
I asked the PPA guy why it was called pickleball and got a damn novel of an answer during which he started doubting himself. The last boat to return on fishing excursions used to stay out and pickle the catch, "pickle boat". Then it started being used as a crew and sailing term for the last boat to finish the race and they were given a jar of pickles because they were assholes. He said thats why it is named Pickleball but also he had a dog named pickles so we're not 100% sure and I may have just wasted 10 minutes of your time.
Simply because of the structure needed for padel. Pickleball on other other hand needs just like 30 feet of empty concrete.
I doubt the bird has the same self awareness I did when I knew my sudden popularity was because of Phoenix Axe Body spray
gonna have to add that to the list, my sis recently moved to Alabama and I've already got her picking me up a Rocket City Trash Panda cap
Anyone have a good experience w/ tuxedo rentals for a wedding? I'm getting married in June, so trying to get that all squared away w/ the Groomsmen too. Not everyone is local, so can't really do our men's shop. I've done Jos A Banks/MW before but have had pretty average experiences with both. Suggestions? I've briefly looked into Gen Tux and The Black Tux, but dont know anyone who has used them.
I've done the Black Tux 2-3x in your situation (groomsmen scattered across the US), it did fine. Suits were OK, they were def rentals.
There are people who take it way too seriously. Those people are huge losers. Same family tree as softball guy
Black tux let us do a test run and I thought the quality of tux they sent was pretty bad and didn’t fit well. Ended up going with jos a banks and it was fine to good
Is pickleball that loud? Granted I don't live right next door to a court, but when I'm near one it doesn't sound like it's being played with sticks of dynamite.
That's louder than maybe I thought but decibels is a logarithmic scale, it's not as if a jet engine is twice as loud as pickleball. I'd imagine it's on the level of a pickup basketball game outdoors.
I think the repetition and the fact that people will play from 6am until close is probably a big part of the annoyance factor. I wouldn't live next to one but have no problem living next to raging nightclubs.
The neighbor who put her place up for sale is also a Republican so take that into account. People also play there for like 2 hours once a week on Saturday mornings and that’s about it.
That makes more sense, sounds like a different kind of ball would be better but that isn't going to happen.
Ben Stiller has a pickleball movie coming out. Jake Johnson from New Girl, Stiller, Ed Harris, Mary Steenburgen, Chloe Fineman, Patton Oswalt, Aaron Chen, Martin Kove, Chris Parnell, Christine Taylor, John McEnroe and Andy Roddick. I'm hoping for dodgeball part deux but that's lofty.
