there is a reason why the Riverdale people are overseeing this http://archiecomics.com/characters/sabrina-spellman/
I was pretty excited about this last year when the original plans were for Sabrina to make her debut on Riverdale then for her to get a spinoff show on CW, but CW decided not to go forward with that. Will be interesting to see if it stays PG-13, since it was originally going to be a CW show, or if they push it beyond that.
I binged it in two days. Very enjoyable YA type show but dark enough to keep me interested. I give it an 8 out of 10.
Yes, what is with the blur effect they use? I didn’t find it totally distracting, but I’ve never seen any show use that before, and certainly not to that extent.
I enjoyed it. Didn't love it. To be honest, Sabrina got more than a little annoying to me toward the end of the season. "I should do this thing which sounds like a terrible idea to absolutely everyone ever involved with magic, but I'm sure it will work out just the way I want for me..."
I thought is was solid, but I was also very much in the mood for something like that around Halloween. It probably got bumped a bit from the timing.
I guess they just launched a new second half of season 1. Not sure why they aren't calling it season 2. I really enjoyed the first half. The problem is that like all things I binge, I almost entirely forgot the plot. Anyone have a good source for a season one recap?
Netflix usually gives a 2 or 3 minute recap before starting a new season. I quit after 2 episodes of season 2. If you’re into social justice you’ll love season 2. I really don’t know why every show associated with the CW turns into this.
I’m not positive. I know it has something to do with Riverdale and there was talk of possibly having a crossover.
I didn't realize that. I watched the first half of Riverdale, and like you with Sabrina, I stopped. I thought it had promise but it became too soap operaish.
That's tough. I think it is fair to compare to Riverdale, but the story was better for me. It's obviously supernatural, but it is also very dark at times. I don't watch any of the YA supernatural shows. That said, I suspect the writing and production may be a step above on this.
IvanTheTerrible One comparison I came up with would be Its the equivalent of Cobra Kai to the Karate Kid in terms of it being aware of it's origin and having a sense of humor about itself, but production value and script are taken to a much higher level.
