the 2nd best job in the sec is whichever school currently has leadership that doesnt mind spending football money on basketball. we have 7 of the top 10 most profitable athletic departments and 11 of the top 20. the conference really should be much better than it is despite being a top 2-3 conference over the last half decade.
Yeah, there’s been some back channeling going on. We almost hired him when we hired Muss, but his TTU team was playing in the title game. He’s still got a lot of connections in Little Rock from his time there. Never thought I’d see the day when Pittman outlasted Muss at Arkansas

Not saying this is what’s happening but our fans have a really short memory. When we went to hire EM, we were locked in on Kelvin Sampson for a while and then chased Beard as he went deeper and deeper in the Tourney. Then we started chasing the guy from Witchita St. Everyone called it a disaster and dumpster fire for missing on those hires and then out of nowhere the plane heads to Nevada. That hire worked out fairly well. The only thing that matters is who we end up with. Everything else is noise.
