fake lawyer working for free for the public defender's office. im in my last year of law school. getting 12 credits but get my own caseload. just have to have a supervisor sign my motions and I'm not technically a full blown lawyer. essentially I get to pay about $6000 to the law school in order to work full-time for free. but the experience is pretty good.
im in my second year. i worked at a state level appeals court for 6 weeks this summer, got paid zero, and only got 2 hours, so i think you got the better end of the deal on that. plus it sounds like it beats the shit out of sitting in class. you at fsu?
yeah im at fsu. definitely beats sitting in class. especially since exam week is always right after thanksgiving and the uf/fsu game. pretty cool having my own caseload and my own secretary (well I share her).
i just got a paying job at the end of the summer (paying jobs in houston for 2Ls without 4.0s are virtually non-existent because of the economy) and i have to deal with clients and make serious decisions, so i am pumped, but it must be pretty badass to actually go to court. edit: also, do you have to ask the secretary first or do you just sex her up?
