Wife flew into Vegas yesterday morning, she was out on the strip most of the night, hoping she was back at her hotel when all this went down. She shouldn't have been anywhere near there but I won't feel better until i hear from her, last text was at 1022PM local time. Hope all the TMB Vegas fam and their loved ones are safe. Now the analytical side of me says, did the shooter reload at least twice? Sounded to me like there were two distinct pauses and then the shooting resumes, but hard to know what are shots and what sounds are the bullets panging off the concrete.

There were people still inside gambling at Mandalay while this was going on. Strip hotels were locked down around 11:30. My guess is the post above is correct. Probably asleep.

Shooter had no priors and lived in a retirement center in Mesquite, NV. That's about an hour north of Vegas.
