surprised there isn't more activity in this thread. i finished the show yesterday and thought it was fun, though not an easy watch.
I need to go back and finish. I got distracted and it fell off my watch list. But I know they’re coming back for more seasons and I know a lot of people really enjoyed the show.
there's a trailer for season 2 at the end of the finale. it was a nice surprise. and i think ive read apple has already approved seasons 3 and 4. i think there are 7-8 books (and counting) the series is based on so there could be a lot of seasons
Jackson Lamb is even better in the books. And Roddy Ho’s character is incredible but written in a way that doesn’t easily translate to screen.
I got all the books on Audible when they were on sale for like $5 each. They are great. Love the show. The way Gary Oldman looks at Ho when he says the moon landings were fake in the newest episode killed me.
One of my favorite shows in a while. Always think it walks the perfect line of good spy story yet also very funny
Same, Oldmans character is amazing, and the show is the perfect balance of complex and easy to follow.
just started season 2- great show. two or three eps into the first season i was like.... did they really get mick jagger to sing this theme? and sure enough.
I hate how short the seasons are. I get knee-deep in the Slow Horses universe and then BOOM it’s over.
British TV just doesn't like to stick around. I think they could do 8 per season without adding anything stupid.
Yeah, with as much British TV as I’ve binged over the years you’d think I’d be used to it by now. Alas.
I'm really glad I can't smell Jackson Lamb. Also, Hot Rod is a dick and I hope he meets his maker at some point
Despite starting this thread, I never got back into it like I needed to. My wife and I just blazed through all 3 seasons over the last week or so. Just awesome. Season 3 was incredible I thought. start to finish they upped the excitement, humor, tension, etc. And getting to know the characters over 3 (short) seasons has been great. Was legit sad when they killed Douglas (not Doug) at the end of season 3. Been a while since we laughed as hard as we did at “YOU SHALL NOT PASS!” when they were trying to keep Chieftan guys out
Just binged all three seasons for my first watch. Really enjoy the show. One of my favorites in recent memory.
That last episode was definitely emotionally rough. I may be thick but I didn’t understand two things… What was with the letters? What was he trying to achieve and did it work? What was with the ending? Who was getting an operational bonus, Lamb or Cartwright? overall I enjoyed it, but I just wish these seasons were a little longer.
Spoiler it got him out of the park b/c he has dirt on everyone there. he knows where the bodies are hidden, so to speak. That's why the top dog interrupted taverner during the interrogation
