I read those words on a screen, and I know what those words mean, but I cannot exactly comprehend that sentence Like, does it stop? If it's consuming everything in it's vicinity at 40x faster than we thought possible, then in however many billion years could it consume earth?

So it got there in 10 years. Did it take that long to send the images back..? Or did it just get close enough to send em back, or how did that work?
It got there in 10 years, May of 2014. They received photos as early as July of that year. Then received more photos and data through 2015 when it finally actually landed on the comet. They sporadically received more data until it lost all power in 2016.
