i noticed that they restocked the nike windrunners from last season so i got this for like $15 off the normal price. this should momentarily make me feel better about us not signing anyone this window.
Third kit possibly, second image's saturation is fucked up. The background is some sort of map of North London.
Guessing you're talking about the daily mirror report that Toby is moving to ManU in the next 48 hours? Seen a lot of reports not coming to fruition but neither way will surprise me at this point. Time is ticking.
Sounds like were still a bit off on our valuation of Grealish, but the deal is expected to get done. Anything else would be a miracle, as it seems we once again have to sell to buy, and no one is buying our dead weight based on our valuations of them. Maybe some still get shipped after the PL window closes, but other than freeing up some cash I’m not sure that helps us much. Also disappointed that the rumored Eriksen and Dele contracts haven’t been signed. And Toby can get fucked.
We seriously not going to sell Toby? If we don’t we’ll end up selling him for way less in January or next summer summer. Levy is a fucking idiot.
We'll get 25m for him next year on a release clause or something. So this is a 1 year loan for 15m with a possibility of getting back in his good graces. Selling to fucking ManU for 40m would be the height of stupidity.
hahaha sky reporting that the grealish deal is dead if we miss top 4 this year, levy has to be out, end of discussion
that's a good question. i won't pretend to know the inner workings of the club, but if levy isn't backed by lewis, it's pretty concerning.
As frustrating as this window has been, not paying 35-40 for Grealish is simply smart business. He’s worth 22-25 at most, and if we’re going to overpay, we need to overpay for someone who is going to improve our starting 11 from day 1. The next 30 hours or so are going to be absolutely crazy.
The ITK is heating up. Saying 2 in 2 out. The thought is Grealish will get done today. Dembele supposedly had a bid accepted at another EPL club. Sounds like we are trying to balance our home grown ratio. I think we almost have to get a home grown deal done, because it means two more players on the roster.
I think Grealish is about home grown. It allows us to add another player from the current roster. Right now we have to cut.
I think that’s definitely a huge part of it. But if we’re going to splash for a homegrown, go to Fulham until they accept a Sessegnon offer. Sucks that Dier isn’t homegrown.
BBC reporting Villa told Grealish he could leave if a 25m bid came in, which we submitted yesterday, but they have now gone back on that and the player is furious. Nothing like the transfer window
I didnt realize that about Dier. With regard to Sessegnon, it doesnt sound like he wants to leave now either though. It would take close to 70-100M at this point.
Sounds like this Grealish deal shutdown rumors at 25M may be true. Hopefully the fit he pitches will have an impact.
Nominating this reddit comment for the best take on this summer so far: "Maybe the new signings are the friends we made along the way."
We made 26.7 million Euros last year based off our champions league performance. 12.7 for qualifying for the group, 7.5 for our five group stage wins (1.5 each) and another .5 for our one group draw. Then we made another 6 for qualifying for the round of 16. If you go back to the previous year we made 16.7 million Euros for that years champions league and europa league performance. The club has stated that the champions/euro league money was not included in any of the stadium payments as it is never a guarantee as to how much, if anything, that we'll get from those competitions. The fact that the club hasn't bought a single fucking player to strengthen the squad this season is an absolute embarrassment.
Genuinely? Yes. To sign no one to improve depth is pretty unprecedented, especially for a team that plays the style we do.
Honestly, I’m just glad we’re done with this and we can focus on the season. Is it disappointing, of course. Is the sky falling, no. It’s obvious that our funding was contingent on outgoing players, and we simply didn’t get any offers worth taking. Poch also isn’t keen on buying just to buy, and there won’t be any integration period at all. Our biggest concern this year is going to be staying healthy, and we’ve already got several key players (Winks, Vic, Lamela) out with knocks which is concerning. I still fully expect this team to finish in the top 4, and hopefully make a move or two to strengthen in January. I also wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Dele and Eriksen contracts announced soon to help quell the unrest.
Dele and Eriksen ars gojng to play a decent amount of midfield this year with all our injuries there. Sucks because they’re our two most important players in creating goal scoring chances but we have no depth at all in midfield. I’d rather see one of them there and Lamela or Lucas in attack then depend on Sissoko to be our midfield linker.
The biggest issue to me is that this shows a lack of ambition on Levy's party, and I'm sure that won't go unnoticed by Poch and the players.
Yes. The fact that we didnt cut a single deal is surprising on any level. I do think we are better coming into this season than last given the likes of Aurrier, Lamela, Sanchez, and Lucas contributing from day one, but it is disappointing. I love acquiring new talent and watching how they fit in. This sucks.
I'm disappointed and think that we've lost some momentum, but reactionaries on reddit talking about fucking protests and wearing paper bags or something to show Levy that we don't have infinite patience... I mean c'mon.
We will still be good because our roster is already good but fuck Levy. There should 100% be chants against Levy this season for him lying and not doing his job.
I think a lot of people are overreacting. We still have the best squad and manager in London. Like I said, it sucks but would you rather get Sissoko’ed again? Because that’s what happens when you buy for the sake of buying.
