This is reactionary in the moment thinking. THIS group, sure, is capped at top 4 and a SF in the CL, which ain't nothing to sneeze at, but it's a squad with zero depth because of not finding the right signings for over a year. We have one body (Lucas) in since September of 2017 if I'm not mistaken. Couple that with average to above average injuries and sure, we are falling short, but it can be improved and added to.
I agree completely that they’re beyond exhausted. I still don’t think this core has what it takes to win at the highest level, though. 15/16 was our chance.
The reality is that the first half could have gone either way. Obviously disappointed, but we had great chances and could have three goals. It all gets forgotten for obvious reasons when the other team does what they did and makes it count.
I feel like the commentators are watching a different game. They said it took 20 minutes for Spurs to get into the game. Son hit a post at like 7 or 8 minutes.
