Best thing is defense and base running woes have disappeared over night seemingly. Feels too good to be true.
Does it matter? Oh has seemed to right the ship after a rocky start. Both those guys have been pretty salty to finish up games the past few weeks.
It matters most for personal reasons, but I'd rather have the guy throwing 100 mph smoke balls closing out the game.
Have the game on mute, but Gibson was my dad's fave player and would regale me w stories all the time. My fave story was him being roommates and besties w Frank White, who was notorious for crowding the plate. White was traded and Gibson told him if he crowded the plate he'd drill him. White steps into the box, leans over the plate. Gibson drilled him w a fastball up high
Pitching broxton in a situation like that shows you how brain dead matheny is, throw anybody else besides that washed up nag
I'm kinda done with this front office until they show some signs of life. Missing out on Robert when we are already in the penalty and have no draft picks this year and TONS of unspent money since we finish 2nd for every free agent is inexcusable. Looks like they're content shooting for 85 wins each year, enjoying the profits from 3 million attendance, and hope they make the playoffs and make extra money there to never spend on players.
Im not a Mo apollogist, but I saw that the Sox weren't the highest bidders, and it was the relationship w Mocada and Abreu that won over Robert. Who knows if the cards were the ones to outbid the sox, but if they were it's hard to fault them in this case.
those reports come out from time to time with free agency signings and are almost never true. Players almost always take the highest offer. Regardless, we weren't the highest bidder and that's what frustrates me. Ultimately, this quote from Mo says it all: That reads to me that they want to set the market lower, which is impossible, and are currently incapable of spending more out of "principle". Meanwhile, ownership pockets a higher profit each year.
