At least we got ranked #10. No way I go out now to watch the Aggie game here in Texas. I’m to old to get ridiculed and fight.
What sucks about performances like this is I’ve lost the love for this fucking sport. It used to be fun and we used to enjoy this program, now any good we have gets shit on and it’s numbing. Seriously should be way more upset but… meh, fuck it. We are Arkansas. It’s expected.
Yea but this team was getting beat by Missouri St. Our defense is garbage and we are going to get killed by teams MUCH better than this. We can’t cover. We can’t tackle. Our defense back squad might be the worst I have seen and that is saying something. We don’t get physical at the line. We don’t try and play the ball. We are downright awful defending the “forward throw”. This is going to be a long season. Fuck it. Run it on 4th and 9 again.
I quit watching and we score 2 TDs. May be my strategy this year. Talk shit, turn the TV off, then go to bed.
I will say that so many Hogs teams in the past would have lost this game after coming out flat and falling behind. I’m proud that this team stayed with it and grabbed the W! WPS!!!
Agreed, bobby p called a beautiful fucking game give him credit. We just shot ourselves in the foot which we haven’t done this year. Good to get it out of the way and geteveryone focused before the next game.
Pretty much all my bets on the game covered, we survived the trappiest game of all time against the Bobby Fischer of offensive play calling, nobody got hurt. I’ll take it
Can’t. I’m an Arkansas fan, and I like the Cowboys. Every football season is an anxiety/stress riddled mess.
Not that anybody gives a shit but I was basically betting that something similar to what went down was going to happen. The other 2 prop bets were $5 bets on mclgothern to get an INT and haselwood to get 2 TDs
Considering the upset losses that have already happened this season, us struggling against Bobby Petrino in Fayetteville is not even worth analyzing. We said before the season and it's true today: We'll know what kind of team we have vs Texas A&M. We're not holding them to ten points but if our pass rush can get to them just enough to get stops, we can move the ball at will...assuming we don't step on our dicks like we did yesterday. I don't think we're going to see another three-turnover game from KJ/Rocket the rest of the year, though.
Hungover, glad we won but still pissed, about to absolutely destroy Susan’s and drive home miserably full
Still wondering the numbers on two stats, how many yards they had after contact and our total number of missed tackles.
The number of missed tackles last night was insane. We definitely haven’t had that many in the first two games. I will say that all the crap from the D last night, it was nice to see them crack down and go to work in the 4th quarter.
Same Achilles heel we’ve always had. Boom and bust with this defense, we put pressure on the qb but if he’s protected or can escape, we’re getting crushed by the pass.
I mean losing the two best DBs in the first half of the first game of the season was always going to be a problem moving forward. We really need to hit the portal and recruiting trail hard for DBs.
guessing the DBs will look something like Corners: McGoltherin, Clark, Chavis Nickel, we hit the portal and got two kids who started for lsu and georgia. they just both haven't been that good this year. if mcglotherin doesn't have those picks he would be hearing it from everyone online. pittman said it best in his press conference today. getting slusher back does two things it enables us to put a good player back on the field in the secondary and also helps us take one off who isn't good. also sounds like khari johnson will be getting more playing time going forward and pittman sounds high on chavis the best 5 might be corner: clark, mcglotherin safety: brini, chavis nickel: slusher
Definitely. My comment was moving forward every year cause we lack serious depth there. I also didn't realize McGlotherin didn't play most of the 2nd half against Mo State.
Get Clark off that list, he has been awful. Teams have consistently thrown at him and he can't tackle worth a shit.
He was one of our best corners against Missouri St if that says anything about the current situation.
Looking back at the game, the defense gave up 10 passes of 15 yards or more. (47, 45, 38, 20, 19, 19, 19, 18, 17, 16). That has got to stop. Ironically, we only gave up one good running play (24) by the QB in the 2nd quarter. The defense really dropped the hammer in the 4th quarter though. They only gave up 42 yards total and 38 of that was on one pass play.
think you have to take out the 4th and 1 long touchdown. thats not on the defense that is 100% on the coaching staff. i think every person sitting in the stadium knew what the call was going to be there and they were still in 0 coverage.
Sure. I mean we ran that play when he was here a few times. 9 plays of 15+ yards instead of 10. Still not good.
agreed. oklahoma state beat them by 1 touchdown last year and made the fiesta bowl. so a close loss to petrino in 1aa with a very good qb for that level isn't going to make me panic. we will play better this weekend. i know coaches and kids will try to not have let down games, but after beating a ranked cincy team and conference game and be ranked 10th, it's probably pretty easy to look past an fcs team. hopefully the adversity they faced in that game will serve them well for the rest of the season.
Yeah, I think having a game where they had to scrap and claw their way back was good for them going into the meat of the schedule.
and after the chad morris era i am thrilled to be 3-0 and genuinely feel like the fans have a connection with the program, players and coaches. it's a fun time to be a razorback fan and it really was not for a long time.
Slusher should be back this week which will move him to Catalon’s spot (where he excelled last year) and should move Khari to nickel and hopefully keep Blair off the field a little more. I’m a huge Hudson Clark critic but he’s arguably one of our best defenders in the secondary right now when it comes to knowing where to be and making reads. He may not be as physically gifted as some others, but we’ve seen how that doesn’t matter if they don’t know what the fuck they’re doing. With Catalon and Bishop out for the year and Slusher with a grade III concussion, it’s pretty slim pickings back there with experience/knowledge of scheme/etc. He might miss a few tackles here and there, but at least he won’t blow a coverage and leave a wide open TD like Bishop… and McGlothern gets caught looking in the backfield a little too much and bites on double moves. Brini has to be better, and Bumper was awful tackling in space this past weekend.
